Usefull, but dated., June 23, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Inside Macintosh CD-ROM (Audio CD)
This book is collection of Macintosh programming manuals till 1995. The userinterface to these books is implemented at technology of that date. In current standards that means outdated. Same goes with information within. So, why this many stars then? The reason is that buying this book makes sence. In constract of buying the paper cover versions of these books the price is there about one tenth. I still prefer the paper cover versions, but I bought only the most important ones and used this CD to cover the rest.
This CD has very low system requirements which means that if it makes sence to connect CD-drive to your Mac, this will work. In that perspective dated technology is a plus.
Currently Apple holds on its site upto date edition of the entire Inside Macintosh series. If you have constant access to net, using it is better choise than this CD. How ever, this CD still is relatively cheep back up for offline working situations.
I recommend this book for non-professional Mac programmes. Usefullness/price ratio is good. For professionals Apple offers very expencive pacage which tries to cover targeted customers of this product.
