Inside Out is a required text for one of my classes, but, unlike most textbooks, it is easy to read and topical. Kirby provides detailed lesson ideas for a variety of writing genres, from term papers to reflection. He uses quotes from students and teachers. This personal approach makes the lessons come to life. Inside Out is a valuable resource for teachers from middle school through college.

I'm really enjoying using this book in my classes. It's very interesting and teaches writing in a fun and entertaining way.

This is the most helpful writing instruction book I've ever read. It provides practical strategies, but doesn't skirt around the fact that all of the strategies won't work in every classroom. Best of all: this book is interesting to read and works!

This book is great. It provides a lot of ideas for incorporating more writing into your class. Very sensibly written.

This is an excellent book for teachers, giving innovative ideas for instruction in writing - which is one of the most difficult things to teach in any grade. This book is highly recommended.

Book was in much poorer condition than listed. It was listed as "good", but should have been listed as "poor". Of the 300ish pages, over 100 have a coffee stain ranging from one inch to covering the entire top portion of each page. Book also has an odor that most likely results from the coffee stains. In addition to the stains and odor, the book also contains extensive highlighting throughout. I would not purchase from this seller again.
