Editorial Reviews

From Library Journal

Unlike Sydney Ladensohn Stern and Ted Schoenhaus's Toyland: The High-Stakes Game of the Toy Industry ( LJ 3/1/90), which focuses on American toy companies and the issues they face, this book by two key insiders explores the role of the independent inventor in the toy and game industry. An interesting short history of toy invention reveals the nature of the partnership between inventors and toy companies. Potential inventors will find information for succeeding in the industry, including how to sell ideas, utilize agents, and time new product introduction. Also useful are a glossary of toy terminology and calendars of trade shows and fairs. Recommended for general collections.

4.0 out of 5 stars A good start for all inventors, a great one for toy guys., June 17, 2000
This review is from: Inside Santa's Workshop: How Toy Inventors Develop,Sell, and Cash in on Their Ideas (Hardcover)
If you are inventing toys this book is perfect in that it has comments from people on both sides of the licensor/ licensee line. IT has clear instructions and references when given. The authors next book was better, so unless you are inventing toys, I would go with the newer book rather than this one.
