A true gem of Goldhil Video's "Inside Television's Greatest" series, Addams Family & The Munsters is a superbly presented video documentary of two classic situation comedies - nowadays often mistaken for one another due to their similar themes (a family of horror-movie types acclimating themselves to the suburban middle-class American Dream), yet quite diverse in both theme and tone - the Addams Family was more of a highbrow show of wit and repartee, while the Munsters was more blue-collar and slapstick in its humor. The history of these television series (which began, flourished, and concluded almost simultaneously) is brought to life with interviews of principal actors, behind-the-scenes footage, little-known trivia, and much more. A unique and highly enjoyable documentary account, Addams Family & The Munsters is very highly recommended for fans of either or both of these great and memorable series. 47 minutes, color.
