I heard about them because I saw the documentary "Louder Than A Bomb" and wrote down the lyrics to my now favorite song, "The Worm In The Apple", and eventually I got around to buying this album. I was blown away. I love Ezra's voice and all of the lyrics, this is a purchase I could never regret and a band I could never forget. I am amazed. =]

Favorite album of the year,

This is a fantastic album. The tracks are diverse and none are filler. "Take Off Your Sunglasses" and "We Should Fight" offer immediate gratification, but don't seem to get old. After listening to the whole thing many times over the past few months, each song has stood out at one point or another.

Having discovered them at Myspace I bought this as to get to know more of their stuff. Have not regretted it. Apart from the 3 tracks I already new (which do sound much better on CD than on Myspace), there are many more highlights on here. This is exactly the sort of slightly weird, not too polished music I love. Especially like Ezra's voice, slightly crooked, slightly manic (remining me of the Violent Femmes' Gordon Gano). Clever and witty lyrics too. And a lot of fun to listen to.

i first heard "take off your sunglasses" on a radio station in los angeles (R.I.P. indie 103.1). i liked it right away, but thought it was kind of a violent femmes ripoff. the album is much more diverse - the songwriting is great and not as simplistic as the single. this is one of my favorite new bands. i'm sure they'll go on to great things.
