Carrie's Found Her Roots,
By M. D. "musikfan05" (Boston, MA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Inside Your Heaven / Independence Day (Audio CD)
First of all, I'd like to say that the "American Idol" singles that the winners release are characteristically 'corny' and 'cheesy.' Having said that, I believe that "Inside Your Heaven" is the second best single released by a winner (right behind "I Believe").
There are some disappointing aspects of the single. For example, the single lacks the crowd-favorite "Angels Brought Me Here," the song that supposedly won Carrie the competition. Another complaint of mine is that "Independence Day" is on here, because the same exact track was on the "AI4 Showstoppers" CD. Despite these flaws, "Inside Your Heaven" is an amazing inspirational single that appeals to many different demographics of Carrie's fanbase. 1) Inside Your Heaven - 8/10 stars - IYH is a versatile song, as it will get airplay on every kind of radio station, including Pop/Mainstream, Adult Contemporary, Country, and Christian. Lyrics, though corny to some, are inspirational. 2) Independence Day - 7/10 stars - Great cover of Martina McBride's hit, Carrie is in her element on this track. May seem a little too much of the same thing, as Carrie has performed this song endlessly. But overall, very good. Again, "Inside Your Heaven" is a must-have for any "Idol" fan. I also highly recommend these other "Idol" singles: "Dreams/Don't Cry Out Loud/I Believe" by Diana DeGarmo, "A Moment Like This" by Kelly Clarkson, and "Inside Your Heaven" by Bo Bice.

I can't wait to hear more from Carrie in the future,
By
This review is from: Inside Your Heaven / Independence Day (Audio CD)
Carrie Underwood is a talented singer with a bright future ahead of her. The CD single gives listeners a glimpse of what to expect in the future from the newest star on the music scene. Independence Day is a great song that addresses the social issue of domestic violence. It is about the extreme measures a woman goes through to escape her abusive relationship. I think this country tune is perfect for Carrie's powerful voice. Inside Your Heaven is a typical pop love tune lyrically, but I think Carrie makes up for it by displaying her incredible vocal range on this song. She sounds great on this track in my opinion.

Too Slicked Up,

I'd rather hear pure Underwood without all the dominating mush in the background. Her voice is a clear as a bell; let her sing her songs her way and stop trying to "overslick" a genuine natural product. Fight, Carrie, for YOUR independence day.

I was never a Carrie fan when she was on Idol but this isn't bad. The song, Inside your heaven, works alot better for her. She defently pulled it off.
I give a 4 our of 5 cause independce day, Again? I mean, she sounds good on it but she sung it on idol twice, on showstoppers, and now her single. I don't know how much she had to do with it but I think a different song would have been a benefit.

I loved Carrie since her first appearance on American Idol. I always new she would win. She has a great voice and an excellent personality and I knew in no time she would be on top of the world and she did it! This two songs are beautiful and one of the best releases from any Idol. I cannot wait to see Carrie's first full CD Release. I'm sure it would not dissappoint any of her fans!

Amazing vocals, but dissapointed at song selection.,
This review is from: Inside Your Heaven / Independence Day (Audio CD)
Carrie has amazing vocals and true sense of musicality. But having said that I don't understand why these American Idol producers (or management team?) can't seem to find better writing for these singles they release. You want to be inside my heaven? Please. And the Independence Day track is great, because it really features Carrie in her element, but it is the same track as on the "Showstoppers" CD. I really wish she would have recorded "Crying" becuase it was so beautiful on the show, but maybe that will be on her upcoming album. With all of that said, Carrie is an amazing vocalist and I'm excited to see what she does with her album!

The Attack of the Care Bears is PATHETIC!!,
By Little BO-PEEP (Birmingham, AL) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Inside Your Heaven / Independence Day (Audio CD)
The LAST thing Carrie would want is her Care Bears bashing her "brother" Bo. They are BOTH great performers so just get over it. Bo & Carrie care about each other a great deal. The Bice Squad would NEVER consider doing what you're doing. We have character and respect enough for Bo NOT to bash Carrie but encourage her & give her a hand. Bo will succeed no matter how much you try to bring him down. Your negative posts about Bo and his awesome music and voice do nothing but fuel the fire and passion for him. Therefore, don't bother. If you have nothing nice to say, you have nothing at all to say!
As for this single, Carrie is a wonderful person, singer and vocalist. I just prefer Bo's version of "Inside Your Heaven" better. Carrie does a great job on Independence Day, but she's going to have to put some heart into her singing if she's going to continue in this business. I prefer Martina's version.

An Honest Review,
By
This review is from: Inside Your Heaven / Independence Day (Audio CD)
With the single that she had been given, Carrie Underwood did a good job making it her own. She performed Inside Your Heaven very well, even better than on the show. If you are a fan of country-esque music, then this would be a good single to by. Independence Day was the same as on the Showstoppers CD, so if you liked it there, you'll like it on this single as well. I gave it a 3/5 stars because it would have been nice for her to have a song other than Independence Day, and i didnt feel that she connected with her song as well as the previous idols had done. However, good start for Carrie!
- On a sidenote, it isnt necessary to keep comparing Bo fans to Carrie fans. People come here to read reviews that are mature and give out opinions, so it isnt fair for those people to get their opinions bashed because they're "hard core Bo fans" or "just mad that Carrie won." Bo and Carrie suit different genres of people, and just because someone is a fan of one of them, that fan shouldnt be ignored or treated rudely.

Who mixed this!!!,
By
This review is from: Inside Your Heaven / Independence Day (Audio CD)
I have just received my copies of both Carrie's and Bo's singles in South Africa and I am so dissapointed. Focusing on Carrie's single I have to ask the question - What on earth went on in the heads of the producers?? Here we have one of the brightest talents to have entered the music industry in the last decade and she is given an unsingable song that is just plain poor and then the album is produced by Desmond Child who they tell me is quite the guru but I think he and all at RCA/BMG & 19 Recordings went deaf on both Carrie's and Bo's recordings. It sounds as if they are singing in a bathroom the reverb is so strong and the lack of clarity and crispness belies the fact that professional's were actually involved. This mixing is probably the most unprofessionbal piece of work I have ever encountered. Shame on you all!!! When Carrie records her full album what's the price on a duet with Rascal Flatts on Bless the Broken Road - Now that would be professional - the only reason I have given 3 stars is that I believe Carrie is way better than the shoddy management she has been subjected to.
