VINE VOICEon June 14, 2005
Format: Audio CD
Carrie Underwood is a talented singer with a bright future ahead of her. The CD single gives listeners a glimpse of what to expect in the future from the newest star on the music scene. Independence Day is a great song that addresses the social issue of domestic violence. It is about the extreme measures a woman goes through to escape her abusive relationship. I think this country tune is perfect for Carrie's powerful voice. Inside Your Heaven is a typical pop love tune lyrically, but I think Carrie makes up for it by displaying her incredible vocal range on this song. She sounds great on this track in my opinion.

I loved Carrie since her first appearance on American Idol. I always new she would win. She has a great voice and an excellent personality and I knew in no time she would be on top of the world and she did it! This two songs are beautiful and one of the best releases from any Idol. I cannot wait to see Carrie's first full CD Release. I'm sure it would not dissappoint any of her fans!

I am 11 and I loved to watch American Idol with my dad (we can't wait until it comes back on in 2006!) and I was confident Carrie would win. Even through those tough episodes, I stood strong and was literaaly shcoked when she was announced the winner. I DID want Carrie to win, but with so many Bo fans, I was sure he was going to win. I screamed when carrie won! So of course I needed to buy her first CD. But I had just gotten an ipod mini and hardly bought cd's now, so I purchased "Inside your Heaven" on Itunes, and downloaded "Independence Day" from my show stoppers CD. Both songs are sung wonderfuly, though Inside your Heaven is more touching than Independence Day. I once sang Independence Day to myself in bed and actualy started crying because I was going to graduate 5th grade and I had loved my class and everyone said middle school was hard (right now it's a piece of cake) but the song just makes you think about yourself and everyone and everything around you. It's beautiful. I've alraedy reserved "Some Hearts" and I can't wait to pick it up tomorow! All in all, Carrie is a great simger and I cannot wait until she makes more music.

First off I hate country music, but Carrie Underwood is the only exception.Another reviewer said "The next best voice of perfection" and they were right. She has got the sweetest voice and we all know she really can sing naturally and without the help of computers. She sings two songs: "Inside Your Heaven/Independence Day"

"Inside Your Heaven" is her single from American Idol.

Im not sure exactly what the song means but it is beautiful.

"Independence Day" is the song she sang at her audtions and during the show. This is a touching song, it deals with domestic Violence or abuse, but you really have to listen to the words, for those of you who haven't gotten the chance to here the song it is not dark and deppresing, actually it's quite lovely.

I strongly encourage everyone to buy her first album

"Some Hearts".You will get your moneys worth.

I'm happy with America's pick for idol this year. This season, America finally got the finalist right other than Ruben vs. Clay, so I have high hopes for both Carrie & Bo in the future. Good luck guys!

This is what I think of the single:

1. Inside Your Heaven- I love Carrie's voice and passion. Throughout the competition, you could tell she wanted this. Although the lyrics aren't as great as past songs, still she pulls it off amazingly. 5 STARS!

2. Independence Day- Again, she does it and proves her talent. I love Martina's and Carrie's version even though I'm not a big country fan. A lot of people would have preferred Alone- Heart or Bless the Broken Road- Rascal Flatts. I think she did a great job on the song. 5 STARS!

Overall:

I agree with Randy and Simon. Every year, America picks the best vocal but may not always be the better performer. I would have enjoyed three songs like last year's single. The song "Angels Brought Me Here" would have been perfect even though Australia's first idol winner Guy Sebastian recorded it. I was looking forward to a possible intepretation of Carrie adding her own twist to the song. Still, I love this single.. GOOD JOB CARRIE!

I recommend this to anyone of any ages!

Carrie's first single has been a joy to listen to. Inside your Heaven is a song I can really kick back and relax to where as Independence Day has me jumping up and singing along to her beautiful voice. Ok so

IYH isn't exactly country and Carrie didn't pick the song herself but she has made her real fans proud. I'm glad I imported the cd and no doubt I shall be doing the same with Carrie's debut album, which will be country!

I have been a fan of American Idol since season one, and I have been a fan of Carrie's since her first audition. It does seem that a contestant like Carrie Underwood is ready-made for the American Idol format. Carrie is cute, she is personable, she is the girl next door (that is if your next door neighbor is the farm half a mile away) AND she can sing!

Side note: I like the song Inside your heaven, but I actually prefer the other song from the finale, Angels brought me here.

Anyway, Carrie sang the song Inside your heaven on the finale with strength and emotion. The downside to the live version were the bum notes that appeared here and there throughout the song (especially the high note toward the end of the song). On this single, there are no bum notes. And thankfully, the long, high note has been softened into a smooth slide of lower notes.

The producers have added a lot of "echo" on this cd version, but Carrie's voice still sounds really good.

Nothing personal against Carrie, but I am tired of hearing the song Independence day. I wish the producers would have put Angels brought me here on this cd instead of Independence day. In my opinion, that would have been a better single.

Well, I can't wait for Carrie's full-length cd.

By the way... I really like Bo too. I have ordered his cd single from Amazon, and I will buy his full-length cd as well.

Take care everyone and God Bless!

Carrie Underwood has such an amazing voice. However, Inside Your Heaven has been the worst idol song ever released. It's just a boring song and doesn't really showcase much of what Carrie has to offer. The 5 star rating is strictly for Carrie doing a great job with what she was given to work with.
