I really enjoyed this book a lot. Like many other books in this series, Tish Rabe and Aristides Ruiz recycle the "Cat In The Hat" characters to teach a specific non-fiction topic. In this case, the subject at hand is the human body. They do a very nice job of covering all the main systems of the body, at a level appropriate for the target audience.

Ruiz' illustrations are spot-on replicas of what Seuss himself would have done. Rabe's narration is quite good, but just a tad below the master's work - granted, her hands are tied a bit by the subject matter.

In summary, I took off one star, since it doesn't quite read like a Seuss book, but the book is still highly recommended.

I purchased three books from this series. My 7 year old Granddaughter loves them, and I am relearning things that I have forgotten. She entertains both her Dad and myself with all the facts she's learning. I am going to purchase all of the rest of the series. Really great books.

This a great book! I got it for my niece for her 5th birthday and she is in LOVE with it! Very fun and easy way to learn the body. Great addition to her Dr. Seuss collection too!

We have a couple of others from this series adn I can't say enough good things about them. I like the educational content and the rhyming keeps my girls (5 & 3) engaged. They ask questions about the content which prompts more discussion and learning. I would recommend this and the others in the series as good nin-fiction, educational reading for young children. We also have the seashore and bug ones.....

The reason I don't give this book a higher rating is a few scientific inaccuracies. For instance, the brain is shown as grey, not pink. It also says that food stays in the stomach for days. In a healthy person the food goes through the entire digestive in about 24 hours.
It irks me when books for children, especially science books, have such mistakes. It would be so easy to edit out these inaccuracies. There is no excuse for such carelessness.

As with almost all Dr Seuss titles, he masterfully takes a college level subject and puts it into a kindergartner's world. He does so without leaving out or dumbing dumb- amazing. And as always the language is engaging through the rhyme and cadence. Added bonus is that it encourages my new reader to read on her own as well.

We bought this for our 4 year old son after he showed an interest in skeletons. It's a great book with wonderful rhymes. I was most impressed when after one reading he came to me out of the blue and told me about blood pumping through the heart and that our brains help us think - it sticks - and the interest keeps growing. It is very basic, but enough to peak an interest in how your insides work.

I have yet to buy a Cat in the Hat Learning Library that me and my kids did not like. I even learn something from these books!!

My 2 year old just loves this book. It's very creative and every time I flip a page I touch the part of the body where everything is and he loves it (tickles him too). He loves looking at the skeletons and the bones (Feletons are his favorites), then asks to see the "big muscle, Heart" and the "balloons" (aka lungs), the spinal cord and the brain. I'm amazed he knows all these words but the book makes it so much fun for him and every page keeps him very interested. We love it.

My 4 year old daughter loves the book so much. She went through it by herself fisrt and then asked me to read it for her. This is great visulisation for my hard-to-understand answers for her questions before. It has become her 'most-wanted' before going to bed.
