Book Description

March 8, 2012
There is a call for more thoughtful, empathic, sophisticated, and wise leadership--leaders who are willing to think and act differently. In her new book InsideOut Enneagram: The Game-Changing Guide for Leaders, Wendy Appel guides you to change the way you see and think. She shows you how to be the leader that others trust and someone they are inspired to follow. Wendy decodes the Enneagram for you--an ancient system relevant for modern times--that will shine light on your natural strengths, your challenges, and the mostly unconscious habits of mind and desires that drive you and others. InsideOut turns theory into practice with relevant case studies, exercises and practices. When you bring out your best, you evoke that in others. Your self-transformation opens the possibility for extraordinary shifts to occur in your organization, community and society. Perhaps this is the most significant thing any of us can do to bring about positive change.

InsideOut Enneagram is more than just a book. It includes over 400 pages of fresh content, room for reflection and journaling, and tools to help you shift the way you see yourself and others--and the way you lead.

More About the Author

A few years ago, internationally acclaimed organizational consultant Wendy Appel felt the call to slow down and look inward. In the quiet of her new home in a tiny village on a Mediterranean island, she reflected on three decades of guiding organization and leadership transformation at companies such as Kaiser Permanente, Cardinal Health, and Pfizer.

During this time she transformed her professional experience and intellectual insights into a framework for leadership and team development that are captured in this book. She drew on twenty years of study and work with the Enneagram to bring ancient, personal, and practical wisdom to leaders and their teams to navigate the current world situation.

Today her work takes her around the world as a consultant, coach, thought leader and public speaker on Spirituality in Business, the Enneagram, and Change and Transformation.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent guide for leaders and coaches March 29, 2012
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
When I facilitate corporate teams, often a couple leaders will ask me at a break "Do you know the Enneagram?" When I say yes, they share how valuable that model has been for their own development and how they lead. Now, I have a beautiful, thorough, accessible book to give that deepens the learning for them and their colleagues on both personal and team effectiveness uses. Highly recommended for those who are new OR experienced with applying the Enneagram to leadership.

5.0 out of 5 stars InsideOUT March 26, 2012

Format:Paperback
I had been wanting to dive into the Enneagram for a while when I met Wendy and she helped me find my type over the phone with her typing cards. Then she let me preview her book and I found it so informative and such a rich exploration. It is very much a guide and a companion for this personal exploration of the Enneagram. Her language is crisp, modern and spot on. I loved it!
