5.0 out of 5 stars wow, just amazing tunes.
what is up with all these people saying they love punk rock, own about 4 punk cds, and not like Ten Foot Pole? TFP is the greatest punk group, along with Pennywise, Strung Out, and more! 2.0 out of 5 stars Ten Foot Pole should change their name since Scott left band
Ten Foot Pole will never be the band they were originally. Since Scott's departure from the band, they have become nothing more than a whiney, annoying, poppy piece of crap. If you want to hear the dope shiznit then peep the flizzow on all of PULLEY's stuff and also the original TFP's first album. Peace-out, YO.

what is up with all these people saying they love punk rock, own about 4 punk cds, and not like Ten Foot Pole? TFP is the greatest punk group, along with Pennywise, Strung Out, and more! The drumming is just amazing. Tony Palmero is the second best drummer in the punk rock scene. (Byron McMackin of PW being first.) He can play faster than any other drummer, and still keep in rhythm. Glen Vegas is an incredibly talented bass-player, and Dennis Jagard and Steve VonTreetrunk are awesome guitarists. Dennis fills the punk tunes with his mellow voice, which you can actually understand, and Glen does a great job with the backing vocals. Insider is without a doubt, one of the greatest punk cds out there. if you like the melodic punk, or melodic punk with a little hardcore/old school punk style, you will love this. i do.

4.0 out of 5 stars Ten Foot Pole kicks out another great album!, August 15, 1999
This review is from: Insider (Audio CD)
Ten Foot Pole is one of the best punk bands out there. They have a good singer and a great drummer. With songs like The Getaway and Officer I Swear She's 19, how can you not love this album. The reason it only got 4 stars was because I believe Unleashed was a better album. But don't get me wrong, this one still kicks some major butt.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Best Album From Some Of My Favorite Punks, June 17, 2000
This review is from: Insider (Audio CD)
Ten Foot Pole have been one of my favorite bands for quite some time, and out of all of their records that I own this is definitely the best. It includes some of the best drumming I have ever heard on any punk or ska album. Another great aspect of 10 Foot Pole is their great sense of melody, on such songs as Another Year Goes By, Officer I Swear She's 19, and The Getaway. The bass is strong as ever, and the guitar is driving, and easily compares to such bands as the Bouncing Souls and Lagwagon. There are the usual starting and stopping and loud and quiet aspects to the songs, although far different than their other records and songs. I really enjoy the vocals, and that is the band's strongpoint, switching from snotty punk to alternatively melodic. My favorite songs on this CD are The Getaway, Another Year Goes By, Another Half Apology, and I Got Your Letter. Another reviewer said that 10 Foot Pole are one of Epitaph's finest acts, well after listening to this you'll say they are the finest.

5.0 out of 5 stars A career best., May 19, 2000

For me, what makes Ten Foot Pole so special is the lyrics. Of course, there are only so many things you can write songs about, but Dennis Jagard's song-writing is so much more 'personal' than that you'd find elsewhere in the broad genre of 'punk'. The honest way in which he gets to grips with his subject, laying it (and himself) wide open, is what elevates the band above their peers, from Pennywise to Lagwagon.

On this album, the songs seem to have greater maturity, a fact which is openly acknowledged, and even explored, on songs like "Another Year Goes By" and "Nothing To Lose". Elsewhere, the soul-baring continues in the same style and with the same passion of "Unleashed", but this time the melodies are stronger and catchier, making the album as a whole easier to listen to.

The emotional contrasts (between "I Won't Complain Today" and "Seven", for example) could hardly be greater, and whatever mood you're in, you're bound to identify with some of the songs.

A real rollercoaster ride from one of Epitaph's finest acts, and somehow you feel that the best is yet to come. I simply can't wait for the next release.

4.0 out of 5 stars Ten Foot Pole: For you, not them., May 11, 2000

"Insider" is something I'd call just a step up from "Unleashed". This is a very very neato album. The first song "The Getaway", pretty much sets the pace for the album. Fast, upbeat, slightly hardcore. Very nice. Highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Ten Foot Pole is classic, April 10, 2000

First of all, I wasn't sure which TFP CD to write a review for because I like them all equally and they're all great. I just chose this one because it's the most recent one I bought. I saw these guys a few days ago at the Metro in Chicago on the amazing "Punk-o-Rama" tour. They completely blew the house down. I liked them as much as Millencolin, and they're my favorite band. I strongly suggest you buy this because the music is great and the guys in the band are cool. They also sold this own merchandise at the show for a cheap price which I thought was really cool. And if the punk-o-rama tour comes to your town, I suggest you see it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Get your butt over and buy this CD!!!, October 23, 1999

Wow. When I first heard this, I was like, Unleashed is better. So I listened to it again, and the last song really puts some hardcore energy into it. The other songs are great, too. This is a mix of all you need. NOFX, Green Day (but the songs include more than three chords), and a little bit of that old school punk style. This is very well-worth listening to. Get Unleashed, also. If i could tell how great this CD is right now, there would be more than 5 stars on this thing. Also, if you are into TFP, also check out Pulley, NOFX, and Millencolin.

5.0 out of 5 stars REAL punk rock, July 31, 1999

This is the best album TFP has ever made. It is an album you can listen to all the way through. It holds your attention, and the songs don't all sound the same. The best song off this album is THE GETAWAY, but they are all excellent!
