5.0 out of 5 stars Great Book About The Oregon Coast
THE INSIDER'S GUIDE TO THE OREGON COAST, 4TH EDITION is a great book that discusses the full experience of living on, and visiting, the coast of Oregon. From what I've read, there are few big cities here, but lots of opportunities for outdoor recreation. Unfortunately, the radio station listings haven't been updated from the last edition, which they should have been, as...

1.0 out of 5 stars Kindle kinks kill usefulness
It may be a good book in print form, but the Kindle version implemented on the iPad has significant problems. The index provides page numbers which are not on the Kindle version. Instead of pages, there are 4338 'locations' which are fragments of pages. Why wasn't the index recreated with links to the appropriate locations? Navigation is hit-or-miss and frequently locks...

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
It may be a good book in print form, but the Kindle version implemented on the iPad has significant problems. The index provides page numbers which are not on the Kindle version. Instead of pages, there are 4338 'locations' which are fragments of pages. Why wasn't the index recreated with links to the appropriate locations? Navigation is hit-or-miss and frequently locks up. The table of contents link for Restaurants chapter goes to a nearly blank page in the very front of the book. The maps are too small to be usable and don't zoom clearly. If all that wasn't bad enough, contacting Amazon directly or getting a refund seems to be impossible.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Book About The Oregon Coast, September 18, 2009
This review is from: Insiders' Guide to the Oregon Coast, 4th (Insiders' Guide Series) (Paperback)
THE INSIDER'S GUIDE TO THE OREGON COAST, 4TH EDITION is a great book that discusses the full experience of living on, and visiting, the coast of Oregon. From what I've read, there are few big cities here, but lots of opportunities for outdoor recreation. Unfortunately, the radio station listings haven't been updated from the last edition, which they should have been, as there have been changes (KJMX giving its country format to KBDN, which gave KJMX its classic rock format in return), and Seaside classic rock station KCRX is still not mentioned. However, this book, despite its omissions and errors in certain areas, is still great.
