I have just moved to Reno and this book was on my hit list so I can understand and get acquainted with the area as soon as possible. This book is has been a great tool. In the short time I've been here I've seen/done/been to a few of these places referenced and the author describes them exactly. This man knows Reno/Tahoe. I can see me using this book for many years. The only thing I am a bit disappointed in is the amount of restaurants he reviewed. To be fair, there are many, many choices but it does seem that the coverage was a bit less than I would like. I guess I could just try them myself. In summary, very good book and extremely valuable for inside information on Reno/Tahoe.

This book is very helpful and full of information, however I was disappointed that a book about such a gorgeous place had no pictures of the places it was describing. I was bummed, but I'm over it now. At least there's one on the cover!

THE INSIDER'S GUIDE TO RENO AND LAKE TAHOE, 6TH EDITION is a wonderful book about Reno, Nevada, and the areas surrounding it and Lake Tahoe. The book covers virtually everything you would want to know about the area, from the nightlife of Reno to the natural beauty of Lake Tahoe and the surrounding wilderness, as well as covering the area's newspapers and radio and television stations. Whether you're planning to vacation in the area, or actually intending to move there, this book will have you covered.

I have been a long time visitor to Lake Tahoe and knew the north shore pretty well. This book opened my eyes to a lot of new places to visit on my last trip. I liked how the sections were broken out, including activities for families/kids. My wife and I went to lovely restaurant listed, Lone Eagle Grill, and thoroughly enjoyed it.

There is another section for day trips that was also of great insight as we traveled to Truckee for the day. I certainly have picked out other day trips and activities for future return visits. I would highly recommend this book if you are looking to expand your list of activities in the Tahoe area.
