5.0 out of 5 stars Bishara captures the true sound of horror September 24, 2013

Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
When I saw the first Insidious film it was one of only a handful of horror films that really was scary/creepy to me. The music, of course, contributed a lot in creating this ambience and tension that other horror films fail to capture. I was surprised to find that the score for the first film was released and being someone who loves movie scores, I quickly snatched it up. It is probably one of the most unique soundtracks that I have. Bishara successfully does it again with Insidious Chapter 2. If I were directing a horror film...this is the guy I'd want doing the music. He uses some of the creepiest sounds you can imagine when putting this score together. I dare you to play this soundtrack loud because it has moments were it will make you jump! It is really hard to describe this music because it is so different. When compared to the first Insidious soundtrack there isn't too much difference...but that necessarily isn't a bad thing. He uses the same style, instruments, and other effects that make this a continuation of the Insidious story...which is what it should be. This soundtrack continues the terror and shock that was found in the first film. As I said in my review for the first soundtrack, this is not music you are going to sleep to, day dream with, or even hum to while you take a walk. It is music that is appreciated for successfully creating true ambient horror. It would be interesting to go jogging listening to this however...you'd probably see the world in a different way! If you like unique movie scores, I highly recommend this one. Oh...one of the coolest tracks in the very last one entitled "Void Figure 7 (ch2)". To me, it sounds like the instruments are having a conversation with one another!
