This map, while it may not appear to be detailed, is actually very helpful, clear and accurate! While road signs are minimal in Costa Rica, the town square is always there and that's where one can always find their bearings. This map is a lifesaver! It is essential for one who is travelling around Costa Rica by car and without a preplanned itinerary!

Don't rely solely on your choice of guide books for your map-needs- this is the one to have with you at all times. just came back from there and it was essential!

My "Let's Go" guide also came in handy, as did the book "Costa RIca: The Last Country the Gods Made," whose euridite leanings delivered solid science without footnote-fastidiousness in essays like "New Conservation in the Costa Rican Parks System" and "The Trouble With Archeology."
