Venezuela
The book is informative and takes a close look at the culture of the people. The pictures are great. The amount of pictures are well balanced with the reading.

Not a book for the budget traveller
Yes, this book has some great pictures, but is not particularly helpful in terms of practical information. I was also disappointed with the layout of the book. The info regarding hotels, restaurants, etc. was not in the same section as the description of the town.

My wife and I retired in Venezuela 2 years ago. The Insight Guide is a very beautiful book, and fun to just read, like a paperback coffee table book. We found the Footprint guide often unorganized. When we really want information, we go to our Bradt Travel Guide.
