GREAT INDIAN MYSTERY,
By A Customer
This review is from: Inspector Ghote Breaks an Egg (Inspector Ghote, Bk 6) (Paperback)
A friend loaned me this book at work because he knew I enjoyed historical fiction. Altho this is a fictional mystery, it is written with such delicate and accurate description of character and setting, that I was transported to rural India with Ghote as he faced what seemed impossible to solve. And it is funny, but in a dry british way. When the book was over, I had a crush on inspector ghote, and was very happy to see there are other books in the series. There are linguistic and cultural references that make the story very authentic and ring true for anyone who has spent time in India.

An interesting British author. His stories are slow in developing but mesmerizing as he tells the eccentricities of Indian culture while solving a mystery.
