I have been playing this cd, in repeat mode, for up to 6 hours a day at my office for many months. The music on this volume is more varied than on volume 2. It is the variety of classical music and the haunting and evocative theme that make this cd so extraordinary. This is the only cd I ever play that contains opera. Needless to say I yearn for more Morse shows, but in their absence I can make do with this cd.

The theme music from Morse was my reason for buying this CD, and I was not disappointed. The CD gives the viewer the opening theme and the slightly longer closing theme (2:10 and 2:32, respectively).

I wasn't overly impressed with the other musical selections on the CD. They certainly are representative of music from the Morse television series, but the pieces selected didn't show a wide variety. And the original music composed specifically for the series never reaches the same level as the Morse Theme.

But the CD quality is excellent, and Morse fans who collect the music from the series won't be disappointed. This CD delivers what it promises.

We are in the process of ordering this CD plus Volumes 2 and 3 (which we have not yet heard). We had earlier purchased Cadfael -- another British TV series soundtrack, and this reminds us of that one. Very different style of music, but absolutely wonderful and uplifting to listen to.

I have always strongly loved the opening and closing theme (same) since I watched the episodes many years ago. I was delighted to learn that I could buy a recording of it. This album also has other excellent music which is described so well by others. But for me, the series theme song is absolutely magnificent and yet tender. I am so happy to own it.

My wife and I are great fans of Inspector Morse and the collection of music on the CD brought back many wonderful memories. This CD will be treasured as a valuable addition to our collection.

A wonderful selection of music from the TV series, beginning and ending with the haunting theme tunes. The selection of music both created for the series and that being listened to by the Chief Inspector flows together so very well...I look forward to listening to the other discs in the series!
