if you love inspector morse, and enjoy chess - this is a good background music for a match.

This triple c d compilation is a fantastic bargain for the price. It contains many of the lovely classical pieces heard briefly on the Inspector Morse series, usually to accentuate a particular scene or in those scenes where Morse was relaxing at home and listening to his beloved opera & other classical selections. So, here we have a wonderful sampling of Opera arias & overtures as well as beautifully performed classical instrumental movements by many great classical composers. What served me best was that it gave me an idea of classical music I wanted to further explore based on the movement heard on these C Ds. This is a terrific way to learn about classical music if you haven't had the benefit of formal training or didn't grow up listening to it in your home. I highly recommend this triple c d set to anyone who is either beginning the journey into this wonderful music or for those already familiar it makes a great traveling companion on a long car trip. Money well spent!

It's been a while since i've seen these series. Nevertheless, this music completely gives the atmosphere. You don't even need the images.

I was disappointed that the cuts were not the same version used in the program. A number of the cuts were by other performers than the ones used in the TV show. I was looking for the voice of Janis Kelly.
