I'm sure if you're in to logic games and want a cheap one..this is the game for you. However I mistakenly thought it was a hidden object game as it appeared in the same search. I can say neither good or bad regarding the game itself due to the fact I put it back in it's case after realizing my error. I'm not leaving a negative review..just passing information.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Logic Game, December 26, 2007
= Fun:3.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Inspector Parker Unsolved JC (Video Game)
Because of its affordable price, I bought Inspector Parker sight unseen. I had (mistakenly) thought it was a hidden object game like the Mystery Case Files (Prime Suspect, Huntsville, etc.)

Essentially, Inspector Parker is a logic game. Remember those logic puzzles in book format where there is a cast of characters wearing different clothes in different rooms--and then, after reading some clues (John wore a green hat but was not in the kitchen), you had to place each individual in a particular room wearing particular clothing?

Well, this game is a lot like that, except the same premise is carried out visually. You get a vertical "slice" view of a house with several characters and several weapons. Based on the clues given, you have to figure out who was in what room with what weapon.

It's not a bad game...but it's not, in my opinion, an enjoyable or addictable missing object game. (I get enough of a mental workout writing, so I tend to look to PC games to relax between chapters or reviews.) No, this requires a bit more brain power akin to logic puzzles. If logic puzzles are your thing, you may enjoy this. But if you're looking for casual gaming that doesn't require a ton of logical analysis, you may be a bit disappointed.

4.0 out of 5 stars A lot of fun! Suitable for hearing impaired but not visually impaired., December 24, 2008
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Inspector Parker Unsolved JC (Video Game)
I have to say that I've thoroughly enjoyed these games. "Inspector Parker" churns out logic puzzles of varying complexity, and I LOVE logic puzzles. It can also give little hints by blinking when only one possibility is left, which may be handy for those just becoming acquainted with logic puzzles. It's not bad for the rest of us either, but it can be turned off if you wish. My only problem with the game is that only 2 "strikes" are allowed, which are very, very easy to make if you get your mouse button fingers confused. I finally took to using my laptop "mouse" with both hands, which helped.

"BeTrapped" works a lot like "Mine Sweeper," but there's a mystery story behind clearing the rooms of traps. Suspects are interviewed, and secret objects can be found.

I consider both games excellent buys, particularly for the price. Try them; you might like them! Both are suitable for the hearing impaired but not low vision. Scenes are open captioned where necessary, but tiny details are necessary visually. No magnifier option is available.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fun- 2 Games In 1, December 23, 2008

This game came to me as a 2 game cd. The first game is Inspector Parker, which is a logic game. There are a series of rooms (in a square, like 3 by 3 or 4 by 4, etc) And there are clues (Like object 1 must be above object 2) where you figure out by elimination which object goes where. I like this game. It doesn't take long to complete one go at it and it's fun. I do not consider this a hidden object game I know another reviewer said the were unhappy with the hidden pictures and I don't blame then since there weren't any.
Go to yahoo games to try Inspector Parker in its limited version to see if it's for you.

The second game surprised me. I bought the cd for the first game and this one actually turned out to be my favorite! It's called Betrapped, and though I don't particulaly care for the name it was very addictve and the murder mystery really sucked me it (which doesn't happen often).
Betrapped is a more interactive minesweeper game, where you figure out where traps are. You are given a colored series of squares and each color represents the number of traps that surround it. (Like minesweeper but with colors instead of numbers). I played this game all the way through to the end in one run of atleast 5 hours but I was really into it and did all my invetigating.
The best part of Betrapped is in the end you have to deduce who and how things happened during the crimes. It's great fun and WELL WORTH the under $10 price tag :)

Though it doesn't say so on the description on this page, I ordered the CD ROM game on this page and it included the game "Betrapped" on the single disc. If you search amazon PC games for Inspector Parker or Betrapped, several pages come up, each at a different price. However, in all cases, the games together are very cheap and an excellent bargain considering how much fun I've gotten out of them.

Inspector Parker is logic puzzle where you gradually eliminate suspects/weapons/locations according to clues. Usually, when these puzzles are written out a clue will read something like, "Miss Phelps lived two doors down from the suspect who used a wrench". With Inspector Parker, all the clues are visual. Plus, the computer helps you out: If you have narrowed down one room as to which suspect is in it, for example, even if you don't realize it yet, the computer image of that suspect in that room will pulse. This lets you know you've solved that one and with one click you eliminate that person from all other rooms. This shortens the game for you, which can be good or bad. For me it was good as it kept me from getting impatient with the repetition.

Going on to the next level in Inspector Parker means that you have more rooms, more suspects, more weapons, etc. The procedure for solving is exactly the same. You can "die" if you wrong click on one icon more than once, so be careful. Overall, Inspector was a lot of fun.

Betrapped is even more fun than Inspector Parker, and for me, especially as it is less repetitous. I played Betrapped for an hour at a time without getting bored. I REALLY enjoyed it. You can play Betrapped in two modes. The first is a story mode - you are solving a murder mystery by interviewing suspects in different rooms, etc. The second mode is pure puzzle mode, and it has three levels of difficulty. I recommend doing the story/mystery mode first as this gives you practice for the puzzle mode, as well as being fun.

Betrapped is a logic puzzle with just a few adventure features, such as picking up a necklace and giving it to someone to get them to talk to you. Mostly though, it's a logic puzzle where you have to figure out a path in each room to set off hidden boobytraps without getting yourself killed. In the story mode and the first level of the puzzle mode, you get three lives and three misses (incorrect clicks).

It is much harder to explain than it is to actually play it. I LOVE logic puzzles and Betrapped is really fun. I am solving the medium level of the puzzle mode (after finishing the story mode first) by the skin of my teeth. I can't wait to sink my teeth into the difficult mode!

Insp. Parker doesn't have the shiny blocks of Bejeweled, but I can lose myself in it easily. Unlike such a luck- or speed-based game, Insp. Parker makes you think, or rather, follow a simple line of logic: the object of the game is to match the items and characters with their correct rooms through the process of elimination. The clues will read like this: The money was in a room directly below Stella. So, you go through and eliminate all the money icons that do not appear in a box below Stella. The only problem that I see with the game is that it can be a bit repetitive, though no more or less than any other little time-sink game like this I've played.

I like to play in Deadly Mode, which means that I'm tackling a 6x6 grid. Same principle as lower settings, but more to wade through. I'm glad I gave this game a chance.
