About the Author

Dr. Sinor maintained a Psychospiritual or Transpersonal Counseling practice for over twenty years. She counseled individuals and facilitated groups exploring the healing and recovery of posttraumatic stress, childhood abuse, incest, adult children of alcoholics, and co-dependency and self-esteem issues.

Dr. Sinor is coauthor of Beyond Words: A Lexicon of Metaphysical Thought published by Astara. Barbara’s second published work, Gifts From the Child Within, is the culmination of personal and clinical research in the areas of posttraumatic stress disorder and adult survivors of childhood abuse.

Dr. Sinor received her Doctorate of Psychology at the Southern California University for Professional Studies. She received her Master of Arts degree in John F. Kennedy University’s Graduate School for the Study of Human Consciousness majoring in Transpersonal Counseling Psychology. Barbara graduated with honors from Pitzer College, one of the Claremont Colleges, receiving her Bachelor of Arts degree with a double major in Sociology and Women’s Studies.

Dr. Sinor is a state certified Psychospiritual Therapist and Clinical Hypnotherapist and an ordained minister through the Association of the Integration of the Whole Person.

I have been a counselor for over thirty years, retiring in 2010. I love to write and will continue share myself in this manner.
