This book explores the core to life, as well as the ingrediants of leadership. Everyone should read this book. It was my first book to read on my new Kindle I received as a Christmas gift. Leaders are only a rare breed if they are able to lead without the principals that the author explores. I love books that make wisdom so obtainable. I would like to thank Mr. Evans for writing it. I have always been in awe of individuals in the military or private business who attract a natural following. As appointed leaders or simply coworkers, these individuals seemed to possess an energy that rubbed off on others. Jeff Evans explores the basic elements of human nature and physiological drivers to explain how we affect others through our presence. I highly recommend this book to anyone seeking to lead and inspire others."Inspirational Presence" builds nicely from Jeff's previous book "The Ten Tasks of Change" co-authored with Chuck Schaefer. Change and leadership, as Jeff points out, are intertwined since you rarely lead people to where they already are. His style fits well with my way of learning: he states a proposition, explains it, gives examples, then moves on to the consequences of the stated proposition. And within these consequences is another proposition, and on he goes. It should capture your attention and interest and be easy to follow. The last several chapters are packed with valuable lessons and, for me, required some re-reading. He does offer a video supplement that can help. In any case, since one of the crucial elements of book emphasizes knowing oneself, the reader must have a trusted partner to obtain feedback. |
