5.0 out of 5 stars the best intro to a master's thinking and life, December 10, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Inspirations from Ancient Wisdom: At the Feet of the Master, Light on the Path, the Voice of the Silence (Paperback)
There are a daunting number -- and a broad range -- of books by and about Krishnamurti. This is a superb starting point for the beginner who's seeking to understand why he still commands such an enormous worldwide audience, as it is for the reader who can only begin to imagine what it must have required for Krishnamurti to renounce his childhood designation by the worldwide Theosophist movement as an Avatar come to Earth.

For the open-minded and inquisitive reader this man becomes a powerful presence -- even after the book and his thinking/action in the world are long "forgotten".

Once through this helpful volume, you can move on to any one of his accessible but often thcik writings.

4.0 out of 5 stars At the Feet of the Master...Priceless!, November 9, 2006
This review is from: Inspirations from Ancient Wisdom: At the Feet of the Master, Light on the Path, the Voice of the Silence (Paperback)
At the Feet of the Master is an absolute treasure, worth the price of the entire book.
Light on the Path and the Voice of the Silence may be equally good to some, but is very deep and not for the novice. Difficult to follow...at least for me and I don't consider myself a novice.

4.0 out of 5 stars At The Feet of The Master, January 31, 2011

This review is from: Inspirations from Ancient Wisdom: At the Feet of the Master, Light on the Path, the Voice of the Silence (Paperback)
At the Feet of the master is an absolute gem. I love it and read a chapter from it daily. I would rate this 5 stars if it was just At The Feet of the Master. I cannot comment on the other two books, they didn't hit a chord with me and I could not read through them. I would much rather read the wisdom of the Upanishads, or the Dhammapada and learn the path for myself through those that I trust.

I highly recommend buying At The Feet of the Master by itself, in it's original condition. It is a wonderful book and I have bought many. The language of 'At The Feet of The Master' was changed slightly for this edition... Changing such phrases like "what religion a man holds" to "what religion we hold" and "God's plan for man" to "God's plan for us" not really a big deal, but there may be other subtle changes that I had not noticed. I don't personally appreciate it. Once again though, please, if you are a spiritual seeker, read At The Feet Of The Master, it can be read online all over, but owning a copy is much better!
