About the Author

Sandye Brown spent more than 20 years in corporate management before establishing Wide Awake, Inc., a company specializing in organizational and leadership transformation. Since 1992 she has worked as an executive coach to Fortune 500 companies including Sears, Allstate, and GE Capital. As a transformational consultant, Sandye helps organizations develop collaborative and compassionate work environments. Sandye earned a Bachelors degree from York College in Economics and Psychology. She is also a graduate of the Professional Coaching Certification Program, and is a certified practitioner of Neuro Linguistic Programming. Having overcome many personal challenges as a result of her own spiritual transformation, Sandye also works with women executives to help them more consciously integrate their own unique form of spirituality into their lives. She and her husband, Ben, live in Vancouver, Washington. Alexis Mason is a master educator with a passion for lifelong learning and nurturing learning in others. She holds a Masters degree in Education from Portland State University and has accumulated more than 30 years of experience teaching for the State of Washington public school system and for City University. A successful business owner and trainer, Alexis loves helping others achieve success in their lives Alexis and her husband, Dave, live outside Camas, Washington on the farm that was her childhood home. Alexis states that living close to the land inspires her and raises her awareness of stewardship, two concepts that are relevant to the blueprint for spirit filled living. In addition to their work together as authors, Sandye and Alexis are partners in Inspired Connections, where they develop and deliver workshops and other programs to help women grow in self-understanding, self-love, and learning as they affirm and expand their faith, their self-awareness, and their service to their families and communities, and the organizations in which they are involved.

It is seldom that you find a book that is profoundly spiritual and equally practical. This is one. It is a wonderful book for any of us who are serious about living a richer, more fulfilled life. I've read my share of conceptually inspiring books, and none of them made any real difference in my life. This book is not that kind. Written in straight-forward language, illustrated with true stories, and full of practical experiential activities for the reader, it contains life-changing principles that usually are only accessible through expensive personal development seminars. Anyone who aches for a life that is more peaceful, purposeful and centered should buy this book.

"The Inspired Journey," by Sandye Brown and Alexis Mason is a thought-provoking blend of sage advice, personal experience and "myths with a message." It encourages women of all ages and life circumstances to look within, to learn and grow, and to make choices that will positively affect their lives. I particularly like the fables presented to illustrate some of life's lessons, and the easy style of writing that invites the reader to contemplate, muse, read on, and absorb.

There are moments--or years--when we feel an insistent need to be still and attend to the rich inner life available to us. There are so many distractions! There are so many fears! The Inspired Journey, for me, provided an intelligent and passionate guide for my own journey toward an integrated life. I felt like the authors held my hand as I ventured into deeper and deeper territory within.
