I own a Dell 12.1 inch laptop and it fits perfectly into the case. While it is very secure in the case when opened, it is also easy to take a laptop in and out. I have no problems removing my laptop from the case when going through airport security. Although I have yet to drop it, the foam does seem to protect it when it is in my backpack or being tossed around. It keeps the laptop clean and free from scratches. The pouch on top holds the power cord perfectly, but little else would be able to accompany it.

There are only two small, but expected negatives to this product. It does not seem to allow for the dissipation of heat, so I find my laptop runs much hotter when used in the case. The case comes only with a very small handle and no strap. If you are going to be carrying this around, you will also want another larger bag to place it in. I would say that the case works best for protection and not necessarily for transportation.
