Install Essentials 504D Double Guard Stinger Shock Sensor

I installed this in the rear body pan of my 2009 Accord V6 and the one that came with my alarm is epoxied to the firewall. Using 2 shocks sensors I have complete coverage without having to make it so sensitive that it falses. Only the most unruly of Harley's or meanest of V8s set it off. It's a piezo sensor with a chuck of iron suspended by a rubber band with some circuitry for gain and to distinguish pre-alarm from alarm. A great little gadget. I wish that more people would learn to properly install security and not just throw the brain to the alarm under the steering column, crank the gain up on the shock sensor, and call it a day :p

Got this sensor as an add on to a Viper 350 plus alarm sensor. Onboard shock sensor was not quite enuff to cover my Chevy Tahoe. Hook up was fast and easy. Has great sensitivity and covers my whole vehicle, from kicking the front wheel to tapping on rear hatch. would have gave it 5 stars, but it took me a minute to find the right screwdriver to adjust the sensitivity on it... :)

Installed it on a Viper 3002 on a 81 Jeep CJ7. It's a necesity as the onboard shock sensor doesn't work well by itself without turning it all the way up and that will set the alarm off instead of getting the cherp you want for the inital warning.

You must install this where it will pick up the most vibration. I limited myself to as far as the wiring harness would go as I didn't have it any me to solder anymore wires making it longer. The alarm install took long enough.

Play around with it and you'll find out the best way to install it.

UPDATE!

It's been 6 weeks and I'm not real happy with this. It does have to do with where I have it located but I think it should be more senstive even though I do not have it in the optimum place. I took some double-sided tape and taped it to a hard surface. It was just hanging by a wire tie which didn't work out well at all. Again, you have to play with it and mounting it to a hard surface as oppose to wire tying it to a wire loom.

In my experience I'm pleased with a perfect transaction; Exellent seller;Product was received as described; a reasonable price.
