I bought a Car Stereo and the installercard popped up and I thought this would be a great idea because it was cheaper than the installers around here.
I purchased it and everything went fine... I received the confirmation that the store I was looking at was contacted and I Set up the appointment for the Monday after Christmas. I arrived at the Installer and was informed of cost after cost after cost that was not covered buy my installercard. I paid more for the install then I spent on my KENWOOD stereo!!!!!!! I paid more for the install then if I went to closer store and had them do it... PLUS the cost of the installer card. WARNING... WARNING... WARNING... When you buy this card you are NOT buying a install of your equipment... you are ONLY purchasing a certain amount of money towards the install. The installer is allowed to jack the price anyway they want and you end up paying more than you would normally. This is a complete scam that makes you go to certain installers in your area and they the card people make money by doing it. DON'T BUY THIS CARD... IT IS A SCAM!!!

What happens if your radio is defective?,

Be sure to cover the bases on this service. I received a defective product(Amazon 3rd party) and had to return to the vendor again to have the HD radio checked by the installer several days after the initial install. I ordered another radio , waited 10 more days and returned to the installer again for a removal and replacement. My first contact with Installer Net after having the problem I was told they didn't participate in the profit from the radio sale and could not be responsible for a bad unit. One rep said I would be charged an additional $30 labor. What followed next was a roller coaster of both good/bad customer service with several emails and phone calls and finally an A to Z claim ,which Amazon recommended. Installer Net contacted the vendor and it was agreed there would be no additional charge to install the radio the second time. There also seems to be a general misunderstanding about the kit needed to adapt the radio to a vehicle from reading the other customer comments about surprise charges. Installer Net offers the kit and installation labor for $89.00, which is a $30.00 savings over buying it from a vendor. If I had to do it over again, I'd probably buy the product directly from the vendor and avoid the hassle....at least they would stand behind their product and service right off the bat.The experience was something I would rather have avoided.

Card was almost identical in price to just going to the local business and paying them directly to install my new car stereo. The card did not produce any added functionality or streamlining to my purchase and actually forced me to go further from my home to have the stereo installed. I had to go further from my home because of the limitations in choice to use only installers associated with Installer net cards. I used CAR TOYS and the service there was good no question , but I could have just called car toys and scheduled install myself for the same price or, chosen a closer location like best buy. Functionally this card just added a step and additional people to achieve the same end goal.

I ended up paying more than double!,

The installer accepted the amount of the card ($60) for the in-dash installation of the radio/cd but charged me another $80 plus tax to install the two speakers which were part of the equipment package.
I had always expected to pay more than $60 - but paying more than double the basic charge to swap out speakers in an older Subaru was a surprise. This could be a real problem for someone on a tight budget.

I purchased an in dash car stereo for my wife's car and I also purchased the InstallerNet installation service. My stereo came on time and the service tech came to my place of business to install it as scheduled. He got it installed but the CD player did not work. I called Amazon.com and they sent out a new unit the next day. They also told me to call the installer back to replace the new unit at no cost! A minor hassle that was handled flawlessly at both ends. A pleasure doing business with both!!

I felt confident in the wiring part of installing a car stereo, but not the dash dissasembly and mounting. The Installernet card was a good way to find a prescreened installer while allowing me to buy the stereo unit online at Amazon. When I read the other reviews about the installer coming to the car, I thought it was great, but unfortunately getting mobile service depends on whether there are any mobile techs in your area - and there weren't in mine. Also be aware that additional parts (wiring harness and mounting frame) are not included - it does plainly state this, but just an FYI. I was ultimately pleased with the installer selected, but had hoped for more convenience.

A terrific system to obtain a competent, friendly install. InstallerNet is organized and professional; my local vendor, Joseph's of Mesquite, Texas, is IN THE BUSINESS. That's their gig. They do it very well. Terrific setup. I had read that my car, a 1995, couldn't be flipped from stock stereo. WRONG !!!! DONE!

This is the way to go if you know nothing about car audio and instillation. Takes the guess work out of what it will cost will buy this again in the future. I would definitely recommend this to others. It was a seamless transaction and I got the work done last minute in time for Christmas.

Scam - Not full payment, no choice of installers, etc.,

Hope this isn't too confusing, trying to stay inside Amazon's guidelines. Installernet sounds like a good idea. But they don't deliver. They sell cards "worth" $X dollars even though the install might cost more than X. (X is just a placeholder for whatever value they sell you, as it varies). Then, the installernet scammers take a percentage of that X, so the money the installer is offered is less than 2/3rd X or so. Usually, an install costs MORE than the full X, let alone the skimmed amount. Installers are told to "collect the difference" upon installation by their companies. In my case, the installer would normally charge 135, but the install card is for 129, and by the time they take the cut, I would owe an additional 40 or so, costing 169 for a 135 install. In addition, I can't choose a different installer without jumping through hoops and letting Installernet get around to dealing it, and the help line hours are only Eastern Time, meaning if you live in the west, they close at 3PM. I was never notified of my install time, and had to call the installer myself. He said HE was never provided with my details, only told to expect details. This was the night before the install date! But he sounded like he knows what he's doing, and we decided to work out a deal on our own. So, I decided to return the Installernet card for refund and deal with the assigned installer directly. For less money...
