The book is excellent for beginners such as me. Review Questions at the end of each chapter help you understand more of the chapter. Very good in detail.

If you have a need to understand some of the legacy LANs that you have, or if you simply want to have a field resource to assist you in physical layer as well as a guide to IP protocol, this book should do it for you. It does cover many other areas that are under the responsibility of the IT manager, so look this one over, it could help you out.
