5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent for reading centers
I can't wait to use these wonderful games in my first grade classroom. There are so many great ideas that will work well during center time. Very good choice for those of us who can't afford to go out and buy lots of expensive games for our classroom.

1.0 out of 5 stars It's not instant
It's not instant if it's not colorful, ready to laminate and easy to put together.

I ordered this book to be delivered as soon as it was available - it was worth the wait. It's great for busy classroom teachers who don't have time to sit and make games but still need them for effective classroom management for centers or independent practice. I highly recommend this book to classroom teachers or reading specialists.

I found this product useful. It says grades 1-3 but is geared toward below grade level readers. The games were very easy to assemble.

this product is easy to use; just make the copies, color the pictures, paste them into file folders and teach your students how to play the game. I tried the word flowers game first with my kids and it is definitely helping them to recognize word families.

Very useful for second language learners. My students want to play one of these games every day. The games take a little while to make, but once done (make sure you laminate them!!) they are a big hit.

This book has some great games for reinforcing previously taught skills. My aide was able to easily assemble them and have plenty of materials to use with the kids. Now I know she always has something appropriate to engage the kids if they finish assignments early. I feel good knowing that the kids are doing something they see as a fun reward, but they are not spending their time idly.

I absolutely love this. This games are great for small group activities in a large classroom or with smaller learning groups in a pull out classroom. There is a good variety of games and the kids find them fun. They are reinforcing their skills without even realizing it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Teacher Resource for Literacy Centers, March 16, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Instant File-Folder Games for Reading: Super-Fun, Super-Easy Reproducible Games That Help Kids Build Important Reading Skills-Independently! (Paperback)
I found this book to be a great for making literacy centers. This book is intended for file folder centers, however, I did not use them as instructed. Instead, I copied the pages onto cardstock, colored and laminated them, and stored them in Ziploc bags. If it was a game board, after I laminated them I used packing tape on the back to hold the two sides together. The students take the items out of the bag, follow the easy instructions, and place everything back in the bag when they are finished.
