This is no small feat - keep in mind that the tutorial videos are for perfectly sized counters. Ours were wider than 36" which required us to put a seam in the middle of the counter and I don't care how careful you are when putting down the second piece (I am insanely picky about this stuff so I was super careful), you will have an ugly seam down the middle. Why can't they make wider pieces?! My counter isn't even that big. Second issue is that the tutorial only shows you how to deal with corners that are perfect right angles so, if you have curved corners, like I do, you are in for quite the frustrating project. Lastly, I can see the lines from the printer, which aren't very pretty and the golden specks look like very pixelated. I've had real granite in the past and while I didn't expect this to be an exact replica by any means, I also didn't expect an 8-bit print -- that is NOT what granite looks like!

When I contacted the seller about issue of the print, they wrote back and told me that we could discuss the manufacturing process. While I appreciate their attempt to teach me, I'm not really concerned with how the product is made, I have a job of my own. What I am concerned with is getting a product without significant flaws and I want the manufacturer to handle that end of the deal, not me.

Just installed this product and I am very pleased with it. My husband makes decals for a living, so I know how to handle this product.
Our countertop has a rounded built in backsplash on it, which would of made install difficult, but I did a wet application and it went down
smooth with no bubbles. I used a product called rapidtac, spray the countertop as well as the sticky side of the vinyl. Before smoothing with the squeegee I sprayed the top of the product, so not too scratch vinyl with squeegee. Rapidtac allows you to move and manipulate the vinyl easier. My husband said that rapidtac shouldn't be used on some of the easy removal vinyl, but it worked great with this vinyl.
I used my own squeegee not the one sent with product. Found that squeegee to be too cheap and flimsy.
I am happy with this product, so much better than my ugly old green countertop.

Through a long series of events I was not able to open my package for roughly 8 months. Upon opening I realized there had been a mistake and I only received one roll instead of the two I had ordered. I contacted customer service fully aware that it was my responsibility to check the package upon receipt so I wasn't too hopeful. Well, was I surprised, the customer service department went above and beyond to help me, they were kind efficient and professional in short they were wonderful.

I applied the roll I received to a kitchen island/sideboard and it looks amazing, it really looks like granite. I read the instructions carefully and I took my time putting it on. I also found watching the videos on their site really helped. I have bullnose edged counters so they were a little bit tricky but with patience and a hair dryer I was able to do it.

The product and the experience with this company has made me very happy. I would recommend the granite film and EZ Faux Decor to anyone.

This stuff actually looks really nice. Not anything at all like one negative reviewer stated. There's no appearance of 'pixelating' at all. It's exactly as it is shown in the photo. Just work slowly with it, like pull it out 2" then smooth, then another 2". Then definitely pull down the edges last, after the top has been done.
For larger counters I would recommend going with a hard laminate.

It's not granite, obviously. I don't expect it to be. What it is, is a million times better than the horrific laminate counter tops I have! I had tried contact paper, but it just wasn't large enough and the seams were annoying. Plus, it looked like contact paper. This is wonderfully shiny and wide enough that I can treat it like a piece of laminate and follow the original seam lines on the counter.

Following the lead of one of the other reviewers, I did a wet install and it's the only way I would recommend doing it. (How the woman on the YouTube videos didn't end up encasing herself in the stuff I will never know.) Spraying water on the counter top and on the exposed adhesive makes all the difference. Then squeegee. I have rounded edges, corners and backsplash and with a wet application I was able to handle all of it. Just work slowly, let things dry when you need to, and don't be afraid!

I love, love, love Instant Granite. It made my old, light wood formica counter tops look like new, elegant granite counter tops. I would recommend peeling the glue side and using a water bottle to spray the product and count. This allows the product to be moved/repositioned as it is installed. I plan to order more, but next time I will remove the kitchen and/or bathroom sinks to ensure I have a seemless install. GREAT PRODUCT!

We didn't have too much trouble applying this to our long dresser top and it looks pretty nice! It is really important to have it as smooth as possible because when there is a small imperfection of the wood it looks much more pronounced after the surface is added. But we're happy with the look due to the savings.
