I don't typically have unreasonable expectations of products and tend to be happy with a fair product for a fair price but, I have to admit, this is a great product for a great price with customer care that I don't always get even if I've spent A LOT more on a service or product.

My cooker arrived damaged. There was a significant ding in the side. I sent off an e-mail to the supplier and received a response promptly. They asked for photos of the damage. I provided it and they contacted me again, told me that the base would still work, as the area of damage did not compromise any functions, and said to go ahead and use it if I needed to until my new base arrived. They should have more in next week. All of this occurred via e-mail and all occurred in a single afternoon.

I'm currently using my dented base and its great. I'm an experienced pressure cooker user so I'm very comfortable with the concept but this is a complete enhancement of all of the pressure cookers functions. I owned a really nice electric pressure cooker that ran over two hundred dollars and, although I was happy with it, I don't think I could compare it to this one. This really does replace so many of your separate cooking devices. I've cooked everything in it since I took it out of the box. I steamed potatoes with a tiny bit of water in it...it automatically sets the steam time at 30 minutes...stirred in milk and butter and served it. I made chicken wings in it with the steam function, and I made refried beans with the bean cooking function. It took two cycles to do the beans. The first time I did it they were properly softened but not cooked. The second time cooked them to perfection. You can increase the time if you want to cook them in one go.

This product is good if you are looking for a cooker with a stainless steel liner. For health reasons I thought stainless may be a better choice. Almost all brand use a non-stick liner. It has a few drawbacks in my opinion compared to the 6 quart Elite Electric pressure cooker, which is a non-stick. I own and use both of them. They are both super quite and and program features seem to work well. Everything I have made in both pots has come out as expected. A drawback for me with the Instant Pot is that the lid must be removed every time you open pot. I like that the Elite stays attached until I wish to remove it, so I can open and close it repeatedly for multiple servings. Be careful of the escaping steam. The program buttons are comparable to the Elite. The Instant Pot has a slow cooker button. Both lack greatly in what they call a recipe book. So lacking in fact, that it leaves me searching online for recipes to try. Now, the biggest drawback in my opinion is that the Instant Pot lacks the ability to brown in the cooker. The Elite has this wonderful option. With the Instant Pot you will have to brown your food on the stove top in another pan and then move it to the cooker. I tried browning in the liner on the stove. This did not work at all well. This browning feature on the Elite also makes it so much easier to thicken foods at the end of the cooking cycle by simply pressing the start button. You will get a nice heat up to make a gravy or just thicken a soup or stew. So, if you are not concerned about which liner to use, I think the Elite wins the prize here, but the Instant Pot is certainly comparable. While lacking the browning feature it is still a good choice if you want the stainless steel liner. Wonderful convenience in a busy kitchen.

Hey it took a while to get it since it's shipped from Canada, but while worth it. My wife has used it everyday since he got it. Just as the picture suggests the quality of the outer housing, buttons, lid and even the internal pot are outstanding. Well worth the extra dollars compared to the other pressure cookers I was considering.

Everything about this pressure cooker screams quality and attention to detail. I decided to purchase this one for three reasons: 1) A stainless steel insert. Every other electric pressure cooker came with a nonstick insert. 2) Large capacity: 6.33 qt is more than sufficient for my needs. 3) Higher pressure than most. Most electric pressure cookers run at 10 psi, while this one goes a bit higher than 11, bringing cooking temp to just 6 degrees below a stovetop model.

When I received it, I found so many more reasons to love it. It's as beautiful as the picture displays. It comes up to pressure in about 15 minutes. It is a solid piece of equipment: The stainless steel insert is heavy duty, with a thick bottom that I'm sure would be fine to brown on the stovetop. The liner is a thick, sturdy black ceramic. The plastic parts are solid. The lid is not hinged, meaning that you can clean it in the sink rather than wiping it down. The gasket is silicone, so that's going to last a long time.

Performance: My first use was chili. I've had bad luck in the past with stovetop models when making tomato based soups, stews and sauces. They were prone to scorching. I made a gallon of hearty Texas chili and there was not the slightest scoring. The insert wiped clean with soap and water and was ready to use on a corned beef brisket, which is cooking as I write this.

The only suggestion I will pass on to the manufacturers is to ditch the two plastic utensils and the laundry detergent style measuring cup and replace them with a snap on lid for the insert. As it stands, the insert makes a wonderful storage container with just an aluminum foil or plastic wrap cover.

If you want a high quality, electric pressure cooker, look no further. This is the one.
