Good beginning workbook
This is a good introductory workbook to Japanese. It makes it easy to learn some of the more common words and expressions. It also explains some of the nuances of the languages, such as formal more polite vs. casual forms of the same phrase. If you are traveling to Japan, I would recommend getting a Japanese dictionary to bring with you on your trip...

Instant Immersion Japanese workbook
This workbook is a great reference for any Japanese learner, or just a tourist. The reason I say this is because it uses no kana or kanji(japanese characters) whatsoever. If you already know hiragana and katakana and some basic particle usage, this is an okay book to get. If you are planning on staying in Japan for a long period of time, or even moving there, DO NOT GET...

This workbook is a great reference for any Japanese learner, or just a tourist. The reason I say this is because it uses no kana or kanji(japanese characters) whatsoever. If you already know hiragana and katakana and some basic particle usage, this is an okay book to get. If you are planning on staying in Japan for a long period of time, or even moving there, DO NOT GET THIS BOOK, because you will have to learn the language all over again memorising the characters as you go.

If you are traveling to Japan, I would recommend getting a Japanese dictionary to bring with you on your trip. It does not try to teach Kanji or other types of Japanese writing, so if that is what you need, this would not be a good choice for you. |
