Instant Murals dry rub transfers are not an ordinary wall sticker, wallpaper cutout or decal. It is better; it gives you the look and feel of having painted the designs onto your walls or other hard surface. As fun and easy to use as cutouts or self adhesive stickers, the final result is so much more. Installation is extremely easy. Simply separate the designs on the sheet, Use the enclosed applicator stick to transfer, then peel back the top layer and enjoy your new look, Removal is even easier - you don't have to. Because they are as thin as paint, you would just paint right over them when you want to change your decor. This is an amazingly easy do it yourself project, your kids can even help you design the room and apply the transfers. It has a thin, paint-like dry rub wall transfer that is created using an extremely high resolution image of original artwork. The detail is so amazing that you can see all the brush strokes from the original artwork. The design is printed on to a transfer sheet, and then an adhesive layer is applied over the outline of the design. A protective backing sheet is placed over the transfer until you are ready to apply to your surface. This design can be used on most hard surfaces, although is not recommended for areas of high heat or frequent water contact. Please note that colors may be different in person than they are on your monitor. In some photos the designs may appear larger; however actual sizes are listed so please refer to them. When I purchased this item, I did not realize they were transfers. I looked at several different "under the sea" decorations and decided to give these a try. They arrived with a popsicle stick as the applicator. You cut the pieces to position them where ever you choose, and then rub it onto the wall. We have orange peel textured walls, they transferred easily and they look great. The colors are just right, not cartoony. They lose a little of the "painted on look" however when you get up close and can see the clear ring around the object but it is not enough to remove a star for!
The documentation says that when you are ready to redecorate that you can just paint right over them. I was skeptical, how would you not still see the outline on the wall after you paint? So I applied one to the wall before we painted, it was mostly hidden after one coat of paint and the second coat removed any trace.

At 1ts I was like $50 for stickers for the wall no way, but I couldn't find anything else I liked, so I'd order them, Best money I ever spent on a wall deocration.
My other son room I bought Space wall stickers and they peel and sticked really easily, but when you look at them you can tell they are STICKERS on a wall. These sea animal I bought for my other son's room; let me start by saying they are NOT stickers!! They are rub ons, you peel off the back then rub them onto the wall and peel off the cover. And they do not look like sticker at all, they look like you actually painted the fish onto the wall, they are flat & smooth no edge. My husband came home from work and was like "you painted all that in one day" that how they look like someone painted them on. And rubbing them on was Easy, just take your time also make sure you have a Good flat paint on the wall. I had a extra fish left over I went to rub it on my cheap semi-gloss paint on bathroom wall and I had a hard time getting it to rub on, where in my son room a I have exspensive Bher paint they went on really Easy. Now I'm pealing the sticker off my other son room and buy the space theme from this same company.
