Grade 3 Up This could be the quintessential paper airplane book. Churchill gives directions for no less than 28 different folded paper gliders, divided into six groups ranging from the very easiest to fold and fly to experimental designs. He intersperses the definitions of many aeronautical terms in boxes with the step-by-step directions for each plane. He then incorporates these terms into the directions so that thoughtful readers can gain "hands-on" knowledge of them. All directions are concise and clear. Diagrams show step-by-step procedures and are well marked and easily referred to in the narrative. While there are a number of books on this topic available, such as Seymour Simon's The Paper Airplane Book (Viking, 1971) and Ralph Barnaby's How to Make and Fly Paper Airplanes (Four Winds, 1968; o.p.), none seems to have as many simple designs to make.
