Brad Sugars was born in the city of Brisbane in Australia on May 28, 1971. Today he is a well known international business speaker, author and entrepreneur.

Brad Sugars came from humble beginnings and is a self made multi-millionaire most famous for his global business coaching franchise ActionCOACH.

Along with his family, one of the biggest influences in his life is Jim Rohn. Brad often tells audiences the tale of how as a teenager he scrimped and saved his allowance in order to afford tickets to a Jim Rohn seminar while friends his own age were enjoying spending their money on games and movies. Despite being the youngest person in the audience, the result of his attendance was life changing. During the seminar, Brad recalls when Jim Rohn told the audience to "Work harder on yourself than you do on your job."

Brad Sugars is an avid reader of non-fiction business books and ever since his attendance at this seminar has read an average of one book per week.

He himself has written 14 business books published under the McGraw Hill brand. Called the Instant Success Series - the books were originally custom published. When McGraw Hill bought the international publishing rights in 2006 it was at the time the largest multi-business book deal with a single author.

Creating a referral based business is the goal of every small business owner. Having your customers send you new customers is the most cost and time effective way of growing your business. However it doesn't happen overnight, or by accident. Having an effective referral based strategy is a must if you want to get the many high quality leads from your existing customers. Instant Referrals provides dozens of cost effective strategies that any small business owner can easily implement. When you read Instant Referrals you will say to yourself..."Why haven't I been doing this all along?"

I a glad I borrowed this book from the library rather than having shelled out $ for it. Urfortunately I question my library now, "Why did they have this rather than the first two referral books I had on my list!"
The book is less about referrals than Mr. Sugars dream about general marketing and operation of a small business. I was frustrated in even finding direction from him to approach customers in requesting referrals. He seemed to dance around the referral process by writing about a variety of other business operating issues rather than getting to the point.
Even more curiously, his ideas about customer contact appear outright bizarre. Who would want to do business with someone so haughty?
My impression is that the author writes from dreams rather than experience.
On the other hand, somehow the book had a lot of positive reviews and it caused me to waste my time in picking it up at the library. I humbly say I don't know how he did that!
