I was very dissapointed with this book. I found many of the scripts were written in a negative tone. For example, the script for clear and healthy skin has a sentance that says "As I am free of blemishes and irritated skin...". My mind focused on blemishes and irritated. It would have been more helpful if it were written in positive tone. Maybe he could have said -...

I didn't title this review lightly to suggest: "This book changes your life". It truly does. Please recall a great movie you saw in the theater, and remember how you felt good, uplifted and excited afterwards. The movie produced that ecstatic feeling. What if you could feel the sameway all the time, and get two birds with a one stone by simultaneously fulfilling your dreams, improving your own life and becoming the person that you always wanted to be? Well, ultimately you will walk the talk.

When a friend suggested I purhcase this book; I felt sceptical. Thought there is nothing new under the sun - after all, I considered myself somewhat all-done dynamo when it concerns self-help literature. When the book arrived, I thought this is speaking of and refering to same things I am doing with creative visualization - so would it bring any benefits?

It proves out I was so mistaken. The book is more than I expected....and keeps bringing greater benefits into my life. The author's contemporary writing style feels like a friend who is visiting you, and talking to you in person.

It does not matter whether you are a professional or a beginner, this book is for everyone. And yes, you can hypnotize yourself for success, happiness and all good things with its guidance. And with eyes open there are several advantages. First of all, it is easy to stay focused. You are reading and imagining at the same time, so your mind does not wander around as much as with traditional creative visualization. Also, the author is a pro hypnotist and has carefully designed the techniques, for maximum effectiveness.

Let me tell you of my first experience with the method. After I had finished reading the introduction part, I followed the instructions for the first session. I started following instructions, and felt myself going into deep state of relaxation... My mind didn't wander around at all, and then something unbelievable happened. I felt tingles all over my body, not once, but twice. That has never happened with conventional creative visualization or meditation.

Also, during the first session, at one point, I had doubts whether I was really in deep state of hypnosis....but quickly continued with the method.. It was only after I had finished, 20 minutes later (it felt like 5 minutes)...that I realized it ACTUALLY worked. It truly felt rather like 5 minutes than all those 20 minutes it took.

I felt the same way as after the good movie I had seen, and that good feeling lasted for several hours.

After the initial work is done, the book provides many ready sessions -- you can choose which ones to use, or create your own. Also, I empowered this method by including some stuff from Neville Goddard's book "The Law And The Promise". It is a highly recommended companion to this book.

In short, the author Mr. Blair, has written a phenomenal book... I wonder why other professionals from this field have not recognized that you can self-hypnotize yourself eyes wide open -- and sometimes it can be more effective than anything.

I am not kidding you.. I have been doing creative visualization for past 6 years or so....and I honestly think the results I achieved through this book's instructions helped me to assume greater control over my own life.

This book gives you a superior tool for growth, and when combined with other self-help books you might enjoy, you get a powerful aide in creating a life that is everything you expect of life.

But there is a price to pay: you must do it, not once, or twice, but consistently. Your first results may or may not be as fantastic as mine, but it is like a muscle. There is a saying that implies: "As you train, so shall you fight". Your spiritual muscle will get stronger through practice, and in a little while you have gotten yourself a great tool.

I feel safe to recommend this book highly. Buy it... With the price of single pizza, you can get so much fun.. and life is supposed to be fun rather than dull.

Also, please consider buying "The Law and The Promise" - it is the best companion to this book. Godspeed!

If you are like me, you probably have had many preconceptions about hypnosis. In reality, we all access this state of consciousness frequently, for example, at a scary movie if you find yourself squirming in your seat while watching the movie you are probably in this state.

As you read this book, you realise that hypnosis really is the ability to use the power of your imagination, while minimising the interference of your conscious mind, to effect permanent and positive benefits in your mind and body, and to break free of those behaviors that do not serve you.

You are learning the skill of communicating with yourself on a deeper level.

This book is organised in a very easy to use manner. There are scripts for 35 different situations ranging from stress to procrastination, better sex, smoking, problem solving etc.

For example, if you were to use the rapid healing script, you read the induction which involves you going down in an elevator, and gradually feeling more and more relaxed till you get to the bottom, then if you wish you may use the deepening script to get into an even deeper state. Then you read out loud the script itself. I noticed that a cut I had, started healing much faster after I read this script. Then, as you practice it more and more, it gets easier to do and you can really feel the effects.

When I read the induction out loud, it worked very well. Then as I used the deepening script I went into the deepest state I believe I have ever consciously experienced. Amazing. There really is amazing power to this technique.

Naturally, you do need to practice this for a while before the changes become permanent. Can you imagine how great you would feel if you were to finally have mastery over your behavior and your emotions?

He also explains why affirmations often do not work. Affirmations can work well if they are done properly. If you do use them in conjuntion with the techniques in this book, then obviously they would be even more effective.

I also highly recommend EFT, Emotional Freedom Technique. Imagine letting go of issues such as stress, anger, sadness, anxiety, sadness, phobias, unforgiveness, by doing a simple acupressure technique which you can do in less than two minutes. You can research this further and download a free manual at [...], and buy various books at Amazon. I hope this was helpful, and I wish I had read this book years ago.

This book is essentially a script book for self-hypnosis. At the beginning of the book is a general induction you can use to induce yourself into a trance state, followed by a selection of 35 scripts for dealing with common issues and helping you to improve your life. You'll find scipts for weight-loss, confidence, motivation, public speaking, lucid dreaming, better sex life and many others.

The book is marketed as using hypnosis while you're awake. This may seem to make it different from other hypnosis books, unless you understand that you are using hypnosis every time you use your imagination and get absorbed by your inner experience - and for that matter any time you read any book that transports you into another world, the world described in that book and you become oblivious to your environment to a certain degree, you are in hypnosis - much like you are in hypnosis when you are absorbed in the action of the movie you are watching on TV. The only difference is that with TV you get to watch the images, and while reading the book, you create them in your mind, according to your interpretation of the words.

You can use the scripts in this book either by reading them, but you can also record them on a tape and just relax and listen to them. You should use whatever method helps you to engage your imagination better and create a more vivid subjective experience.

This book was created for non-hypnotists - however even a professional hypnotist, particularly those who are new to hypnosis, may use this book as an additional resource - just as they would use any other script (patter) book.

Near the end of the book is a section on hypnotizing yourself while you write. This has brought to my mind another book "The Einstein Factor" and the method called "image streaming" which you may also experiment with; as well as mind-mapping, which is particularly useful for drawing the information out of your subconscious mind.

The next section, Suggestion Template, guides you through a process which will help you to create successful suggestions that will be customized to your personality, preferences and your specific outcome.

The book contains few additional sections with useful information on supercharging your affirmation and getting the best results out of your self-hypnosis session.

I highly recommend the book for those who want to know how and why people choose hypnosis to change their lives or an undersirable behavior.

Simply put, it worked for me after a little practice and a little rereading - had I initially followed the directions to a "T," it probably would have helped me to become more efficient sooner. In otherwords, when it says to find a "quiet place where you can be completely alone..." you really have to do so. That meant I had to put my cat out of the room and close the door in order to eliminate all distractions and keep my mind from wondering.

In my opinion, the best thing about the book was the various templates. They help you organize your thoughts on paper and systmatically achieve your goal.

I was impressed. Highly reccommend the book.

It is impossible to tell how many times I quit smoking. Each time ended in failure and more damage to my health. Nearly one year before I purchased this book, my family doctor told me I had COPD. Still, even though I wanted desparately to quit, I just couldn't muster up the will power. I saw this book on Amazon's web site and I thought, " If I just quit smoking for three days, I could save the price of the book.
To make this short, I locked myself in my bedroom where I had peace and quiet, I read the book which only took a couple of hours and the next morning I had no urge to smoke and I have been a non-smoker for nearly eight months. My only wish is that I had found the book many years ago.
My profession is real estate sales and even though I had forgotten, I had set a goal and last week when I let someone look at the book they saw where I had written inside my sales goal and they reminded me that not only had I quit smoking but I also made my multi-million sales goal. If you believe you are worth the price of this book, I recommend you buy it and reach your goal(s).

I saw this in the book store and I simply thought I would make people do funny things, but the quality of life improvement is huge. From the very first session, I focused on stop stressing out and felt so good after I hypnotized my wife with it.

I am glad to share with you I have 99% effectively conquered several "sin"'s in my life that I have been struggling with for years. Everything from swearing to over eating and anything beyond. I am tempted to have myself get sick after eating chocolate, but I am too convinced that it would stop me from eating it!

This is more than worth the money.

I never thought studying hypnosis could be so easy and so fun! That's what I love about this book---it's extremely lay-person-friendly (no unexplained jargon) and it's easy to sense the author's enthusiasm for his discovery. This makes his writing so much more capable of helping the reader to achieve a state of hypnosis. It's really easy to be hypnotized and best of all, you're your own hypnotist! I was especially impressed with Mr. Blair's nightclub analogy to explain how the subconscious operates and why the other coaching techniques, Dr. Phil approaches, etc. have a lower success rate than good hypnosis can. I was hypnotized just reading all the background info in the first couple of chapters. I have trouble with stress-management and I feel so much more relaxed now. My anxiety-level has been curbed greatly after only a couple of self-sessions. Blair also teaches you how to write yourself into hypnosis and how to customize your scripts to meet your own personal goals; so, you trully do become your own hypnotherapist! He shows you how simple it is to turn this into a way to give the therapy to others. It's SO simple. Do NOT be intimidated if you know nothing about hypnosis. You will practically be an expert on the subject when you've finished reading the book. Be sure to put this one at the head of your arsenal of self-help books!

I've been using this book for over two months now focusing on two topics, "More Energy Now" and "Stop Stressing Out." Since then, I've seen a significant decrease in anxiety and increase in overall energy. It's not just a "placebo effect," or wishful thinking, it really works. I get caught off guard sometimes when I suddenly notice that something (in my case, social anxiety) that always had scared me no longer does. I may still notice it, but my heart no longer starts racing and I'm not dreading having to talk to someone- it's something I can control now.

You have to be determined to improve yourself, because it does take a little practice. You also need to have an open mind and get past the "I can't believe I'm doing this" thought. But if you stick it out and take it seriously, you will see pretty amazing results.

I cannot say enough about this book. One Word: Revolutionary. I have struggled with many self-hypnosis books, and all of them, without fail, require me to have a super memory to remember the complex induction exercises, then the suggestions. No more. Mr. Forbes presented me with the answer to this problem. Why not just read the scripts out loud and let my own familiar voice do the work of the hypnotist? Guess what! It worked! As my mother always says, "The proof of the pudding is in the eating." So, the first script I used was the one that would prove to me it works -- to stop my nail biting. I'd been a nail biter for over 35 years. And a skin picker/hair puller. Well, with one week of use on the "End Fingernail Biting" script, I was no longer a nail biter. That was more than 3 months ago, now, and I'm still nail-biting free! I've always been a hair puller, suffering from what is termed trichotillomania. Because the nail-biting script worked so well, I took the script and (forgive me, Mr. Blair) rewrote it verbatim, replacing the nail-biting with hair-pulling. Do I dare say what happened? I'm now no longer a sufferer of hair-pulling compulsion (much to the delight of my wife and my doctor). So...does the book work? Yes it does. And the more than 30 scripts provided in the text cover a wide range of different goals, while the Customized Suggestion Template makes it easy to write your own scripts for your specific goals. Thank you, Mr. Blair, for having the insight to recognize this revolutionary technique, and the concern for our welfare for putting it in written form for us to use. You have unlocked a whole world of possibility to me. And I am certain that others will have the same spectacular results...because I am no one special, just a person who believes it will work, and it does!

This is the best self-hypnosis book I have come across. Everything is in here to get you started towards your goal in a few minutes. Most of the reviewers described how the process works, so I'm going to let you know what scripts are included in the book. Stop Stressing Out(makes you feel so serene, like you just had a massage...you feel like butter), More fun at parties, Super-assertive in business, Success, Public Speaking, Eliminate allergies, Stop teeth grinding, Perfect Concentration, Amazing Dream Recall, Lucid Dreams, Bye Bye bad habit, Feeling dandy at the dentist, Decisive and efficient, More energy now, Fly w/o Fear, Fingernail Biting, Goal motivation, Sleep, Great Sex(I only read the script once, and that night had intense, amazing sex-I forgot I read the script early...so I'm going to do that one again soon),Lose weight, Eat healthy, Procrastination, Smoking, Total Self Confidence(after a few days of doing this script I feel so good and more comfortable around people, especially at work), Clear Skin, Acing exams, Memory, Intensify workouts, Immune System, Rapid healing, Appreciate Your Mate(which should go nicely w/great sex), Creative Problem solving, Creative Genius, and Make more money--I keep a journal of how money I make every night...the first time I used this script I easily made about $1,000, then I didn't use it again the next day(I should kick myself). I went back to using this script again for a week and continuously made decent money $250-$500 per night, and when I stopped I didn't make as much. So I'm going to do this script for a month, so it really sticks.
You do the scripts daily for a minimum of one week, some may take longer, it depends on your motivation and beliefs. I've read that it takes 21 days to change your beliefs. So even if it takes 3-4 weeks the benefits are worth it. You have to do it daily and stick with it. You can even make a recording tape and listen to it as backup (ex. Listen to the tape when you first wake up, Do ISH later afternoon or before bed...whatever works for you, experiment.)
Bottom line:
It works, there are many scripts everyone wants to work on. Buy the book and make this part of your daily routine, it could only change your life for the better.
