This book is the perfect antidote to silly wedding books that assume that your parents are paying for everything and that you have a Cinderella complex. This real-world guide has been my bible as I have been planning my wedding, and its usefulness is evident in the dog-eared pages, notes scribbled in the margins, and scuffed cover from its permanent home in my purse. (I might add that the book is perfectly portable.) Even if you're not planning an instant wedding, you'll find this book indispensible.

I just bought this book today and CAN'T put it down. It offers a no nonsense approach to getting married. I am getting married next month in Nov. We DON'T have a year, this book is for ANYONE who plans on getting married. It has great tips,great advice and very very realistic! A must have to anyone who is planning on getting married soon. 2 THUMBS WAYYYY UP

I am so glad I found this book! My fiance and I got engaged and set the date. We were determined to plan our wedding in 4 months. Everyone said it couldn't be done. With the help of this book, we're proving them wrong! This book cuts through the usual frills of wedding planning crap and gets straight to the important points. The to-do lists included at the beginning of the book and at the beginning of each chapter were immensely helpful. Aside from outlining what to do and when, this book offers ways to cut costs and appeals to true indie, DIY brides. It proves that you can have a fabulous, FUN wedding without sacrificing a year of your life to plan!

I bought this book after reading it at the library -- and a copy for my future mother-in-law too. It's written in a conversational, relaxed style. It's intended to help a couple plan a wedding in four months, with very specific goals and lists for each month. It's pretty flexible, though, and could be used as a guide for a longer or shorter span of time. The best thing about the book is that it helps weed out all the garbage that the wedding industry tells you is absolutely essential. It helps you relax and realize that not too much of the chaos is actually necessary, and furthermore, that you get to choose what's important to you.

Man oh man - this book was awesome. I helped my girlfriend plan her wedding in just a few months and this book really walked us through the process step-by-step. I really like how it breaks things down in a matter-of-fact way and explains general wedding etiquette without getting too much into the boring and useless nitty gritty of every matter. I'll be buying this book again for another friend once she gets engaged!

This is full of obvious information that you likely already know anyhow. It was a waste of money and my time reading it.
