My husband died suddenly and I recently purchased "Instantly A Widow." It is excellent. It was good to know that someone else felt the feelings I went through. I thank the author for sharing herself with others.

My young healthy husband died of a massive heart attack. No other materials helped me the way "Instantly A Widow" did. This book ministered to me in my time of need. I have given away several copies and loaned mine. I highly recommend this book.

My husband died of a massive heart attack at age 49. Mrs. Sissom's reactions, feeling, emotions and pain mirrored my own. This book should be in every church and public library. I cannot recommend it highly enough. It is a book of hope and encouragement, something I desperately needed. Many thanks to Mrs. Sissom for her courage to write this story.

I enjoyed the book and yet it hurt to read every page. Particularly so since I recetnly have gone through the loss of my husband. She expressed so vividly her feelings and I identified with each one. Her faith is a challenge to me to cast all the hurt, grief, fears and care on God fo He cares for me.

Biblical platitudes, clicheed writing --- true, in a trite way, to what grief feels like but would only be helpful to someone devoutly Christian. Not at all helpful.

I came across this book at a local Christian bookstore shortly after my husband passed away from a long illness. I bought it and was NOT disappointed. Instantly a Widow is about the author's experience after losing her husband in a car accident. She shares her feelings and struggles with instantly becoming a widow! This book was such an inspiration to me that I have since purchased 7 more copies for other "instant widows". If you or someone you know is or has recently become a widow this book is definitely worth your time and money!
