4.0 out of 5 stars Great Little Fountain
We use this pump to fill a large vase that then overflows with water and trickles down onto rocks below. Although our first pump did not work properly (a problem with the solar panel), a replacement was quickly shipped out to us. The replacement works great.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not bad for the price
I knew what I was getting so I wasn't disappointed. Unless you live in a really sunny state (not western Washington or Oregon) do not expect this fountain to overwhelm. I use it to make some water motion in a bird bath. It works perfectly for that. But as soon as the sun goes behind a cloud or the solar panel is in any shadow, the water barely trickles. But for my purpose...

The force of water is not dramatic, so if you're looking for something large and awe-inspiring, this is not the pump you want. However, if you just need something simple, this is your best bet. Note that this is solar and direct sunlight runs it--simply having it in a lit area or outside on a cloudy day will not produce power to the pump. That said, having the solar panel directly facing the sun produces the most power... as the sun moves across the sky, the pump will continue to work, but at a visibly reduced level... to maintain a 28" height, you will likely need to adjust the solar panel throughout the day.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Little Solar Water Pump, July 31, 2008

This little water pump works great. I attached a 1/4" plastic tube which raises the water about 14" inside of my water fountain (I'm sure it will raise the water higher then that). The attachments are are OK - I don't have to use them. It work only when it gets direct sunlight (no battery) that is what I like, I don't need to run the water after sunset. No on/off switch.

I own several different models of solar pumps that use around the garden. I thought I'd try this one. It's pretty pathethic. Under direct sunlight it barely pushes a trickle of water 10 inches. I would not recommend this solar panel/pump combo to anyone. There are many other brands than might cost a little more, but deliver a much better stream of water. I give this pump two thumbs down.

1.0 out of 5 stars solar fountain pump, April 30, 2009

I bought this pump to work in a little ceramic bowl. Live in NM where we get plenty of sunshine. The pump hardly makes any ripples in the water and even after sitting in the sun for 2 day it still hardly works. On the 4 day the pump gave out all together...not a good product.

New 2Watts 5 Head Solar Pump Garden Fountain Pond Water Feature Water lift height: 28 inches
Great little fountain. I have mine in a large terracotta pot.
Nice large solar pannel. Nice long length of wiring from the motor to the pannel. However the solar pannel has a cardboard backing so it cannot be left outside in the elements. The solar pannel also has no gadgets to prop it up so you have to lean it against a wall or similar. The tube leading up to the spray nozzel that is supplied is not really long enough. It would be better if it was longer, as the pump has to be operated under water and there is only about 2.5 inches clearance from the top of the pump to the top of the nozzel, so that on a hot day the water level has to be checked so that it does not all evaporate and expose the pump. I have sourced an extension tube from elsewhere to lengthen the upright tube so that I can put the motor on the bottom of the pot under 1ft of water and there is no danger of it drying out.

I don't understand all these positive reviews. I took this pump out into extremely bright direct sun and the water coming out of the pump just weakly pulsed - about 1 inch high. It would not pump water up a tube attached to the outlet at all. I worked with it for 2 days before giving up and returning it.

1.0 out of 5 stars Worked for 2 minutes, May 8, 2009
This review is from: Instapark® 5 Head Solar Pump Garden Fountain Pond Water Feature (Misc.)
This is a very disappointing item. It worked fine for about 2 minutes then completely died. The attachment of the solar panel to the ground spike is very unprofessionally done and broke the first time I tried to reposition the panel. I'm very disappointed.
