5.0 out of 5 stars 20MHz Oscilloscope, January 20, 2007

I am very pleased with this product. It does all that I need plus more.
I think it is the best product for the price. I did compare prices of
a few other ones.
I don't have a lot of experience with oscilloscopes. Only did a little work in automobile tech school with one.
I use this one for building small receivers and transmitters and will do some troubleshooting on other ones.

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Instek GOS620 20 MHz Analog Oscilloscope
Coming from a background of using old tube type scopes that probably needed misc parts replaced and were drifty and unable to lock on easily this thing is amazing. I can lock the signal and zoom in easy as pie. It's amazing. Big step up from my 40 year old heathkit!

4.0 out of 5 stars Instek 20 MHz Analog Oscilloscope - a very basic O-scope, September 25, 2011
This review is from: Instek GOS620 20 MHz Analog Oscilloscope
I have had the benefit of working with this oscilloscope(but I do not own it). Although my experience has been mostly positive I have to say that the overall design(appearance) of this O-scope makes it seem like it was made 25 years ago even if almost brand new. Green monochrome screens and old style controls just seem antiquated in the 21st century, plus it seems 10 pounds heavier(and 2 times larger) than it should be. But, that is generally true for all analog O-scopes today.

The display/graticule is very basic, measurements are made using the on screen 8x10 "block" style graph with rulers showing smaller sub-divisions(numerical settings are selected with knobs turned to a specific number indicating time or voltage). Those using a display like this for the 1st time and normally accustomed to colorful menus and graphics will probably feel like they stepped back in time.

The price on Amazon for it is reasonable, although the cheapest digital O-scopes are about $50 cheaper. I would never pay more than $400 for an O-scope like this.
