EXPECTED MORE BASED ON THE TITLE,

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Instinct Combat Shooting: Defensive Handgunning for Police (Paperback)
This work is nothing more than a drawn on essay where it would be better suited as a single chapter in a true defensive handgunning text. The author who claims to have pioneered "Point Shooting" tends to repeat his methodology throughout the text whos subject (Instinct Combat Shooting) is simply point shooting renamed. It does serve in an introductory capacity for point shooting, however lacks the detail and diversity of methods employed by a multitude of ancillary police handgun courses. Based on the title this is what I had expected to read, however I was introduced to nothing new. Also lacks illustrations and photos to reinforce the technique.

Chuck Klein's "Instinct Combat Shooting, 3rd Edition",
This review is from: Instinct Combat Shooting: Defensive Handgunning for Police (Paperback)
Chuck Klein's "Instinct Combat Shooting " 3rd Edition, is a must, not only for veteran law enforcement officers, but for everyone who carries a firearm for protection of self or others. You NEVER know when you will be confronted in a situation requiring the use of deadly force, and, being able to shoot accurately without wasting time looking for a sight picture is the key to survival in such a scenario. Site pictures are great for ranges and static situations, but definitely not the solution - at close range when milliseconds count - and your life and/or that of another is on the line facing a real-live armed assailant. Klein's book will provide you with the knowledge of how to prepare and condition to meet close quarter combat confrontations. His book addresses this in down-to-earth layman terms. The first edition of his book did a good job of defining the basics of the concept and execution of "Instinct Combat Shooting". His current 3rd edition goes into more detail and provides testimony regarding its value in firearms training programs from known professionals in the field of firearms safety. This combined with Klein's over 40 years experience with firearms and his associated credentials provide a solid footing for the bottom line !

Could be better,
This review is from: Instinct Combat Shooting: Defensive Handgunning for Police (Paperback)
This is a good overall title but lacks in some areas. Example, the book lacks some pictures which could be used to enhance the author's descriptions of various tactics and drills. The author also provides the reader with an overview of his "course of fire" which is conducted on a range to improve skills. Although he doesn't mention any type of force-on-force training or drills which would obviously be better suited for improving instinct shooting for use during a real situation. However, those minor flaws do not take away from the value of the material covered.

Rceived product in a short time. Product was in better shape than advertised. Very pleased with product from seller. Looking to do further business from seller. Lowest price. It was like receiving another Christmas gift. I have made a lot of purchases from amazon marketplace and was most impressed with this seller.

Point and Shoot,

This review is from: Instinct Combat Shooting: Defensive Handgunning for Police (Paperback)
This a great book to learn the techniques of instinctive shooting. I have used the targets described in this book and the proper hold of the weapon. For me instinct combat shooting is far more beneficial than target shooting, as it it closer to real situations.
