Our beloved cats were suffering from an allergic reaction to top quality cat food because the product contained grain.

This grain-free cat food has relieved the symptoms and both cats love it!

My cats favorite of the three dry foods from Nature's Variety. I rotate per instructions the varieties of dry, wet and raw food. So far, only one is really getting into the dehydrated raw bites but it can take a while when all they've known for a long time is the equivalent of feline junk food. Seriously, cats can become addicted to junky food, carbs, etc, just like humans and it can take a while to detoxify and acquire a new palate.

We wanted something with more nutrition and that used materials that a ferrets digestive system would naturally encounter. One of the major ones is rabbit. We tried this out to use as a replacement for Marshall Premium Ferret Diet. Which while there isn't anything exactly wrong with it as a food, the quality wasn't anything to be impressed by.

We started off mixing it 50/50 with their old food to get them accustomed to it because ferrets can be tricky to get accustomed to new diets. After a few months not only has their coats improved in appearance and texture, but they are more active and playful when they are up. We've also noticed that they've started eating around the Marshall ferret food and picking out the instinct food to eat first if they can help it. My only complain about the product is the cost, I'm not saying it's an unfair price, just that I wish it wasn't nearly as high.

This might be a good food choice for cats, however, none of my three cats will eat it. I've tried over and over to get them to at least try it, but they won't - they smell it, turn their heads, then walk away. They wouldn't even eat it when they were hungry!

Since none of them ate it, I ended up throwing it outside a handful at a time for the squirrels and other wildlife that visit my yard. The squirrels ate it, and I also noticed a skunk and raccoon eating it during the evening. So...the wild animals love it (I'm sure they wouldn't be picky about what they ate), but my own cats want nothing to do with this food.

My new rescue kitty had digestive issues, and as a last resort, vet said to consider allergies, suggested we try grain free food with no soy, wheat, corn. My outdoor cats always preferred to catch and eat rabbits over birds, so rabbit seemed a logical place to start (this is 75% rabbit). Other websites panned Nature's Variety because of the rabbit origin (China) so I called the company. The rabbit in this kibble comes from France, the rabbit in the frozen raw and canned comes from China. Small nugget shapes make it easy to eat, it is easily digestible, and equally important, after initial puzzlement, finicky kitty likes it. It is high in protein (40%) so they eat less, aren't always hungry, and it contains healthy supplements and probiotics. In the few weeks eating this rabbit kibble, my cat has grown a thick soft coat, more whiskers, increased her overall activity, the frenzied scratching has stopped, and no more vomiting. She has thrived. Instinct rabbit kibble seems a healthy, more natural choice for cats. Human and feline are both very pleased, highly recommend.
