Instinct Raw Boost

Grain-free kibble + freeze dried raw pieces

As the leader in all natural raw nutrition for pets, Instinct offers products that make it easier than ever to include raw in your dog’s diet. Instinct Raw Boost - the first and only product line to bring you grain-free kibble plus freeze dried raw pieces together in the same bag – is the perfect combination of convenience and nutrition to give your pet vibrant health.

A diet consisting primarily of raw meat, organs, and bone reflects what an animal would eat in its natural habitat. Freeze drying preserves the natural integrity of raw food while simply removing the water. It is the same great taste and nutrition of raw with the convenience of easy serving.

With Instinct Raw Boost, it’s never been easier to nourish your dog with the pure and wholesome nutrition of raw.

What are the components of superior pet nutrition?

We believe superior nutrition for dogs and cats starts with healthy, natural ingredients. This means high quality animal proteins like meat, poultry, and fish should make up the majority of your pet's diet. Fruits, vegetables, and whole grains are also beneficial, providing many vital nutrients for your pet's health and well-being.

Why Grain-Free? A dog's natural diet is high in meat, poultry, and fish protein and low in carbohydrates. Instinctive nutrition helps dogs thrive, nourishing muscles and building strong bones. Improved skin and coat, weight management and increased energy are some of the amazing testimonials we receive about our food.

Why Raw?

Dogs are meat eaters by nature. That's why raw, fresh meat is the most instinctive diet for your dog. A diet consisting primarily of raw meat, organs, bone, and fat reflects what your dog would eat in his natural habitat. With natural proportions of vitamins, minerals, enzymes, proteins, and amino acids, raw diets provide wholesome nutrition for the health and well-being of your animal companions.

Our puppy mill rescue dog (an 8lb pomeranian) has had digestion problems for almost a year when we first got her and we had tried a few different foods at the suggestion of our vet. We finally got an allergy test, which was littered with many things our dog could not eat - most of which were in the higher rated dog foods. We had been using the regular Nature's Instinct (no rawboost) for a few months, which is a bit cheaper, with some success. I stumbled across this one at a pet store and saw it was supposed to help with digestion. We gave it a shot and have been very pleased. Our dog's stool has been firm for almost 6 months straight and she seems to love it. The only problem is she digs out the "raw bits" first and pushes the regular kibble to the floor. Usually she leaves a portion of the regular kibble until the next meal so we add a couple raw bits and by then she will finish off the rest. I would say this is like the doggy version of Lucky Charms. It may be difficult to get them to eat anything but the marshmallows! If your dog has pretty good digestion already you can try mixing this food with the regular Nature's Instinct for cheaper mix.

If you have OCD, keep looking, eventually you will find your way back here. I am always checking out what I feed our dogs, reading ingredients comparing cost per serving, offsetting that with how much poop we have to pick up. Well, I bought this first at Petco looking at the benefit of a little Raw. The Dog has taste buds too...Blue Buffalo < Taste of the Wild < Bark at the Moon < Instinct Raw Boost. All are good foods, sure they cost a bit more, but are not the most expensive out there. This food is great for our Retriever and Shepherd.

This food is expensive, but well worth it. I have a large standard poodle with a sensitive stomach and a grand poop producer. My primary goal was to reduce the poop factor since I have a small yard. This definitely does that. He produces about 1/4 of what he used to. Cleaner yard. Also, this food is rich, so he needs about half of what other foods require. So although it is expensive, it actually turns out to be about the same because I don't have to feed him as much. He is feeling VERY playful and has clear eyes, soft coat and plenty of energy. This is premium food with premium results.

Very, VERY inconsistent "raw" chicken in it (please see photo). The base food is fine (the one without the raw) but this one is so hit or miss it's just not worth it. Latest bag had about 15-20 pieces of "raw" chicken in it. Some bags are overflowing with it. Their manufacturing quality assurance team is utterly useless and quite frankly, it offends me that someone can be so incompetent and retain their job. Avoid this product at all costs.

This food is excellent. Your dog's feces will be more compact and less smelly. The food itself smells good...when was the last time you purchased a good smelling dog food? This is not your regular disgusting & rancid top quality food. Coats are nice, teeth are clean, breath is fresh.

I would, however, order from other internet sites - you will find this cheaper at PetFlow. I don't know why amazon has such a high mark-up on it.

Do the research. This is rated as one the few top dry dog foods. I tried Wellness and Fromm's before and I felt this was better rated and had a better variety of ingredients. My dog isn't too picky, so taste alone was not a factor. He was given up to a kill shelter because his hair was falling out and he had hot spots everywhere. After three months on this food, his Pomeranian coat is a thing of beauty! No more flaky skin, falling out hair, etc. The stools are small and less frequent which is great too.

I will preface and say I do not think there is enough "raw boost" to be able to call it raw boost for the large bag- I think it is a marketing gimmick but I do feel it is the best kibble on the market. My boys love this food, and for my doberman to maintain his sleek 100 lb figure, he only needs 3 1/2 cups a day.

My lab has been loving this food for about 3 months now. We struggled to find him a food that agreed well with his stomach, he has had chronic loose stools since he was a puppy, he is 2 now. We have tried the following foods and vet recommendations; Blue Buffallo Wilderness Chicken, Blue Buffallo Wilderness Duck, California Natural Lamb, Blue Buffallo Lamb, Fromm Beef Fritatta, Natural Balance LID Sweet Potato and Bison and Wellness Grain Free. None of these foods seemed to firm up his stools. After a couple months of slowly switching my dog to this food, his stools have improved greatly and are healthy according to my Vet's standards. He is also going #2 less frequently and the waste is much less. He goes once or twice a day now instead of 3-4 times a day. I highly recommend this product for anyone who may be facing similar issues as Chance and I were.
