Dabrye is "Tadd Mullinix", a relatively unknown Intelligent dance music producer of some quite considerable ability. (His two albums are highly sought after, and incredibly difficult to buy). His closest comparisons would be "DJ Krush" & "Prefuse 73", mixing the beat programming of Krush, with the Cut N Paste (and Glitch) of Prefuse 73. But Dabrye isn't a weak copy of these artists, as his music, and more importantly his imagination easily matches (and in a few cases surpasses) his peers. Opener "Intrdctn" starts with a hypnotic bass kick sample, and delicate keyboards that instantly demands the listeners attention....but then fades out after 1:13 into the song, almost as if to say "This is just a introduction....this isn't what I'm going to use as full songs". "Won" holds a mesmerizing laid back trip-hop beat structure (think Nightmares on Wax), before halfway though, sounding out with a truly sublime flute sample that crosses over into Electronica territory. "Evelyn" coaxes a warm production from Dabrye, by subtly cutting up samples and layering in simple keyboards aesthetics with and thick and progressive drum kick that produces a sound a million miles away from Electronica's occasionally cold arrangments. The emphasis throughout the album is predominantly downbeat, with each track the soundtrack to a multitude of lounging late night tales. Undeniably quirky...resolutely unconventional, irresistibly catchy, and infuriatingly brief (the running time is under ½ hour), but almost certainly a abstract classic.

Taking in the rhythms deeply feeling the warm tones and juicy bass rumble my steps. I'm feelin some retro/new-skool hip hops. Yay I love it when people say "Dabrye is a graduate of the college of Scott Herren." Beats to git on up to! I couldn't keep from shakin my booty throughout, especially "won" and "evelyn" all in its brilliancy and depth within the beats.
