Kirkwood, a former nurse, believes she received messages from the Virgin Mary, which were published as Mary's Message to the World (Putnam, 1994); later, she and her husband, Byron, published their prayer and meditation sessions as Messages to Our Family (Blue Dolphin, 1994), from which this latest book is drawn. Here they discuss the urgent need for prayer and meditation as a means for healing the world and averting global disasters, though they offer none of the grim predictions that gave impetus to Kirkwood's first book. Although not particularly well written or convincing, this book nonetheless provides an increasingly popular New Age perspective on the role of Mary as an agent of personal transformation. About the Author
Annie and Byron Kirkwood were married in 1985 and now live in northeastern Oklahoma. They have a blended family composed of five sons, three grandsons, a granddaughter, and a great-grandaughter.
Annie Kirkwood, a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) since 1965, travels giving talks, workshops, and seminars. Urging Annie to "Live the message," the Blessed Mother has directed Annie to encourage people to do the same. Annie speaks from the heart about her experience and personal dedication to spiritual growth and healing. When she is not working, Annie enjoys playing the piano, and painting, and working in her yard.
Annie began receiving messages in her mind from Mary, Mother of Jesus, in 1987 and continues to receive messages from Mary and other spiritual guides.
Byron Kirkwood has an MBA from Southern Methodist University and was previously employed in the microcomputer and electronics industries.
Together they publish a bimonthly newsletter and operate a catalog mail-order business, marketing products for spiritual advancement and emergency preparedness.
