I purchased this book recently (Feb 2009) because I thought it would help with getting the current 10 & 11 Oracle OCA & OCP certifications as a DBA. The book is written for Oracle versions 8 & 9. It does have a few good hints in it that I have not seen in other books.
My opinion - for current certification classes and this book is very dated. For the person who wants to find a nice non Oracle OCA - OCP study book this is not it. The author and editor really need to be on the third edition of this book now. For a DBA or an instructor, this book would be of little use.
