I found Mehdi via Amazon, looking for something similar to Loreena McKinnet's instrumentals. Never mind the one or two reviewers who label this as elevator music. A cheap rendition of Copa Cabana fills that category, and Mehdi is nowhere near that end of the spectrum. Any song from Mehdi's collection is in itself unique and colorful. The music flows softly, allowing you to use it for any occasion: reading, studying, writing, dinner parties, driving, etc. I've even used it for background music while on the computer. It is soothing, calming, and brings to mind your own images of what each note represents to you, personally. I describe it as a soundtrack for your life. Since I found several songs on each cd sample I liked, I went ahead and bought the gift set. It's worth every penny and all of them are unique. Once you hear these melodies, Mehdi will not fail to accompany your every adventure.

I had never heard of Mehdi until I read a couple of customer reviews & listened to the sample of "Eastern Sunset". I bought the cd & in a word, "WOW"...this cd has not left my cd player since Day 1. Mehdi's compositions are very melodic and beautiful. Think of each song as pieces of art. This is the perfect cd to play after a hard & stressful day on the job. Mehdi's music will suck all the daily stress out of your life (well, at least for the length of this cd) and will take you to a place of calm & tranquil beauty. As others have mentioned, fans of Yanni will appreciate Mehdi's music, although the music of each respective artist is very different. Yes, like all cd's, this cd will not be to everyone's taste, and some may think of this as "elevator music". But hey, what do they know? If this is "elevator music" then this is the most beautiful, soothing, phat-beat- eastern-tinged sounding elevator music around! "Instrumental Dream" will be a cd that you will not regret purchasing. Now, if you excuse me, I have to go & listen to Mehdi's other fabulous recordings!

I have had this album for almost a year now and I still reach for it more often than almost all the other CDs I purchased back then. Great in the morning while getting ready for work or in the car while driving.

Mehdi is an aspiring Ambient-New Age artist becoming more famous and renown today. Instrumental Dream Vol. 1 is an excellent cd created by a true artist of the Ambient-New Age genre. His music does not come from ideas or other songs, but deep from his heart. Instrumental Dream Vol. 1 is a cd that helps one alleviate stress and pain, whether it is from school, work, or relationships. Life should always be filled with happiness and Mehdi's songs helps the listener to feel life the way it should feel. Some people may say this cd is boring or predictable and even an elevator type music, but this cd is in no way boring or predictable. Instrumental Dream Vol. 1 comes straight from the heart of a true artist and calling his work anything lower than wonderful would be an insult.

This CD is great... I just love the title track "The Dream" not to mention all the rest of the tracks. I have been playing it at a spinning class that I teach at the local gym and people absolutely love it. So I'm back to get Mehdi's other CDs. I'm sure that all his works are just awesome.

From song 1 Eastern Sunset to Infinite Love this music is really heartfelt and beautiful.

I purchased this cd after someone on this review said if you like Yanni you really will like Mehdi and they were absolutely right! I can really get into their music. It is not too fast or too slow. It has just the right beat. I highly recommend this cd and I plan on buying the others they have produced in the future.

This artist is absolutely amazing and this album is definitely proof of that. I am a die hard Yanni Fan but this is pleasantly different and all the songs are unique works of art. This is one of those rare finds that you feel good about whenever you decide to play it. I went to soothingmusic.com, Mehdi's official site and listened to sample after sample. The feeling that came over me was one that I rarley feel with music and I just wanted to hear the samples over and over again.If you like great instrumentals and want to get an album that's worth every penny then look no further because I promise you that Instrumental Dream by Mehdi is it...

I've never even heard of Mehdi until I was at Downtown Disney in Anaheim last week. I saw 2 guys playing some very soothing music and they were also selling CDs. After hearing a couple of tunes, I decided to check out their CDs. They had 5 or 6 available, but the last song I heard them play, "The Dream", was just beautiful, especially with that middle eastern intro. That tune happen to be on their first album, so I bought it. Needless to say, the whole CD is just excellent. The only thing I didn't like was the album cover. I only wish it wasn't so dark.

Well... From the very 1st time I saw Mehdi on PBS A while back, I instantly fell in love with the music.If you're looking for "enigma-genre" music like some others, then this will disappoint you mightily. However, if you're looking for refresh music, then there's no better, PERIOD. Start with East meets West with "Eastern Sunset"... by the time you get to "Flight of the Eagle", you'll be so exhausted waiting for something bad. NO, you won't find it in this or the rest of his CDs. Very refreshing, very enchanting and best of all, very satisfying...
