5.0 out of 5 stars Outstanding!, November 8, 2007
This review is from: Instrumental Gold (Audio CD)
Great collection of classic instrumentals from days gone by. I got it for "Wonderland By Night," and was delighted to find Floyd Cramer's "Last Date" and Frank Mills' "Music Box Dancer" on it. I grew up listening to these songs, and it's wonderful to have well engineered CD versions of all of them.

5.0 out of 5 stars An absolute must have, May 26, 2008
This review is from: Instrumental Gold (Audio CD)
Im 23 years old and I first heard this collection at the age of 10. At that time I was listening to punk and rap and all that so I have no idea why I became obsessed with my aunts copy of Instrumental Gold. I borrowed it from her all the time and finally got and wore out my own copy. This is my second purchase of this cd, its all the greatest, right in one package.

5.0 out of 5 stars Original instrumentals that were hits, November 5, 2011

This is wonderful full orchestra sound. These conductors made the original recordings. Many times later groups just can't quite capture the exuberance of the first edition. Here you get a cross section of sound because it is not one orchestra playing all the songs. At the time of this review the price is about $70. I bought it for far less and have enjoyed it for years. A good price would be around $30.

This CD is one of the most played CD's at our Senior Center. It is so loved by a few of our members that they asked me to order one for them. One lady says that she doesn't listen to radio stations any more, shd just plays Instrumental Gold.

I also like the CD a lot myself.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Nostalgic Music, March 5, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)

I ordered this to be played at the 50th reunion of my high school class (Anoka, Minnesota). I already had a copy and the organizers wanted some music representative of that period, 1959-1961 when we were in high school. This is great music. Unfortunately I missed the last "new" album so we got a used album. I have not heard it but I understand it is very good quality.
