Lush Musical Dreams,
This review is from: Instrumental Paradise Volume 8 (Audio CD)
Majestic and playful, MEHDI's music sweeps you into an intoxicating embrace of soothing rhythms. Instrumental Paradise is a sweetly melodious journey into peace with flute, guitar, piano, violin, cello, Persian oud, hammered dulcimer and sitar. Ancient memories mingle with contemporary instrumentals as MEHDI invites you to a magical place where music awakens the soul and soothes the spirit. Listening to this album brings you to a place of renewed clarity and spiritual harmony. You may also want to look for MEHDI's "Instrumental Heaven."

The Legend of the NewAge,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Instrumental Paradise Volume 8 (Audio CD)
Mehdi did it again, this is great addition to Mehdi's series which was done in various styles and influences from his previous albums and it's a noticeable difference between this volume and Volume one on the other hand. Since I'm from the Middle East countries, some of the music are well-known to me and more familiarized with them such as the consecutive touches in keyboard in the middle of track 2 " Eternal Bliss" and the use of "Oud" (This is Arabian word) in track 5 Utopian Dance both these track are very close to Turkish and Iranian music. However, track 6 "Sacred Gathering" is one of the best pure New Age song ever produced by Mehdi.
These Legendary instrumental songs created by Mehdi are unbeatable, they are dreaming music, they captivate the listener with their expressiveness and emotion, they are the most enjoyable music in all its perfection, they transport you out of your world with pure, clear and natural heaven.

"Every album should be called Best of Mehdi," another reviewer once said.
Amen. It's everything everyone says it is. And it was absolutely worth the wait. Yes, good cover choice; love the white horse. Where's our DVD, Concertmaster?

Musical Nirvana - Where sound quality, artistry and composition come together,

This review is from: Instrumental Paradise Volume 8 (Audio CD)
Power up the stereo. Turn the lights down low. Don the headphones and energize the CD player. Relax. It's time to enter a world of virtuoso musicianship, of soundscapes that take you to another world. Close your eyes and listen. You're no longer alone but surrounded by beauty and floating into Paradise. You move seamlessly between this world and the next, the music weaving a tapestry that transcends the distance and the times.
Méhdi's Instrumental Paradise is a special recording in that it captures the soul and essence of one of the great musical visionaries in our time. Méhdi has been playing the piano since he could reach the keys and has composed music for many feature films prior to embarking on his Instrumental musical journey in the mid-90's. Méhdi's music (a mixture of Middle Eastern, Celtic, Greek, Southern European and Spanish or at times Moorish set to neo classical and more modern influences) defies the current practice of cataloging each artist into a standard category. Above all else, this is music for the adventurer in each of us. Méhdi is the feature artist showcasing his wide-ranging Piano and mesmerizing original compositions. But this is by no means a one-person show. Flutist Dan Jenks, Violinist Tony Ragetti, Percussionist Yoshi Masayuki,Cellist Jesse Von Unwerth,Persian Oudist John Bilezikjian,Guitarist Michael Barbieri,Sitarist Daniel J Gupta are just a few of the virtuoso musicians on this master piece. They add their tremendous musical talents to a recording that truly is more than the sum of its individual parts. Each of these musicians are talented masters in their own right and have recorded with Méhdi as well as other respected and diverse musicians ranging from Loreena Mckinnett to Yanni. The sound quality of this recording is beyond reproach. The dynamics and spatial imaging of the recording deserve special mention. This truly is a recording without fault: Over 59 minutes of timeless excellence in sound. Just listen, learn and enjoy. If you enjoy artists such as Secret Garden, Loreena Mckinnett,Enya, David Lanz, Phil Coulter, Yanni, classical, Celtic and other world music, or if you are intrigued by a musical adventure, Méhdi's extraordinary Instrumentals should be on your short list of future musical purchases.

I LOVE THEM ALL.,

This review is from: Instrumental Paradise Volume 8 (Audio CD)
I first heard a sample of one of the tracks from a streaming audio website. It was the first time I had heard this music and it was enough to convince me that it was to be my new favorite artist. The music has the same timeless quality as Vangelis, but whereas the latter contains mostly synthesized instruments, his has a full blown instrumental ensemble utilizing all kinds of Acoustic and exotic instruments. It's a cross between Loreena Mckinett and Secret Garden with a touch of Yanni, but much better in my opinion.
The first track is an upbeat and energetic tune while still keeping within the confines of the genre. The track "Connecting Prayer" is beautiful if a bit overlong but is good enough to sustain your interest especially while driving. "Utopian Dance" has a climactic and exotic flavor which offers great diversity and helps carry the melodic mood created up till then. The final track is my favorite. It has to be one of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard. The piano and Guitar reach such an emotional depth that you will find yourself listening to it all over again. All in all, this is a superb album for fans of Contemporary Instrumental or for those with an appreciation for well produced and well performed melodic music. I had previously purchased the entire set and loved each CD so much that I had to have this new one. All of Medhi's instrumentals are really grand and although it's unusual for me, somehow it's hard to just pick one as a favorite over the others. I truly love them all.

You Must Buy These CDs,

Just when you thought that "Instrumental Heaven" was the best album you ever heard, he comes back with "Paradise". This artist puts so much passion into his music that it's unbelievable. When you hear Eternal Bliss, Heavens Rain and Utopian Dance, you think you have just heard the best music on earth. Then you listen to Sacred Gathering and you realize you were wrong. Is there a more beautiful piece of music than the piano / Guitar solo Prayers Answered? Listen to this album and you will wonder how you ever put up with the garbage they play on the radio today.

Haven't heard anything by him that I didn't love,

This music is so relaxing, but yet energizing and spiritual. After listening to these CD's, the music stays in my head for days! Everything he composes is fantastic. Each one of the performers in his orchestra are awesome, and together have the best music ever.

Really Great Music.,

I bought Méhdi's new CD because I already had Instrumental Imagery and loved it so much that I thought I'd get another of his CDs. I'm so glad that I did because I absolutely love it. Unlike many other CDs that have 2 good songs and a bunch of filler, Méhdi's CDs are truly like greatest hits and as I was looking at the track listings on his other CDs, I saw no repeat songs, which is also very rare these days.
All in all I think this is a great CD. It's good to listen to when you're in a reflective mood. It would make good background music when you're trying to do something else. "Sacred Gathering" is probably my favorite song on the album because the beat is so infectious. My only problem is that I find myself wanting more of this music !

Beauty seeps from his songs...,
By John Faust (Rhode Island) - See all my reviews

After discovering Méhdi through a close friend, I have developed an immense love for his music. His musicianship is superb. Although I already own most of his CDs, I bought the "Paradise" CD even before it was oficially released and I do not regret it! Each song is fresh but I would not go so far to say that they are better than his previos CDs. The haunting strains of "Heavens Rain" become more beautiful every time I listen to it. "Sacred Gathering" and "Blosooming Flowers" are some of the
finest pieces that I have heard from any artist in this genre. The entire album is nicely balanced and although it's soothing it's also uplifting and rythmic. I highly recommend this album (and his others) to anyone who is appreciates the many different facets of beautiful music. They really do transport you to another world. |
