4.0 out of 5 stars mostly still relevant, but what about lasers?, January 31, 2008
This review is from: Instrumentation for Eyecare Paraprofessionals (The Basic Bookshelf for Eyecare Professionals) (Paperback)
Yes, the book was written 9 years ago. You might wonder if it is still relevant. Remain assured that it mostly is. The instrumentation described herein has scarcely changed in decades. These are used for tasks like determining the refractive state of the eye, or to test for glaucoma. The Schiotz tonometer and other instruments reflect a mature subject. (Perhaps a somewhat sleepy field, characterised by minimal change.)

If you wear glasses, you might recognise some instruments and tests in the book's photos. Depending on your eyesight needs, you might have been subjected to various of these tests.

What is perhaps missing is a discussion of some new laser-based instruments.
