This review is from: Insulators: A History and Guide to North American Glass Pintype Insulators/Volumes 1&2 (Paperback)
This two volume set is an absolute must for anyone who collects or has an interest in North American glass pintype insulators.

Volume one is a superbly written historical reference on the design, manufacture and usage of glass insulators. While flipping through the pages of volume one, one can learn about the rich history each manufacturer and the insulators they produced. Volume one also provides a color reference showing the many colors insulators can be found in.

Volume two is a pictoral guide to nearly every known glass insulator, ordered by consolidated design number (CD number). Both threaded and threadless insulators are shown at full size. All embossings are shown for each insulator, making this guide a must-have for anyone interested in researching, collecting and displaying these beautiful crown jewels of the wire. Bottom line: if you collect glass insulators, or are merely interested in the large amount of early American history associated with insulators, get this book!
